This is the kind of thing Grantland does so well, getting guys to tell fantastic stories that they might not have been comfortable doing before. Of having fun with sports that get taken too seriously.

Things like getting Jalen Rose to admit he slid his foot under Kobe Bryant during a 2000 NBA finals game and sprained his ankle. On purpose. And he recounts the 81 reasons that came back to bite him as a member of the Toronto Raptors.

Great story.

at least rose admits it. if you watch game tape of the heat in the playoffs, lebron does the same thing. only reason they win. guess it happens all around, but lebron definetely does it.

“only reason they win”..? Ok, jackass. I swear, This site should require an IQ test before you’re allowed to post.

I think it’s a bit ridiculous to say the only reason the Heat won was because Lebron slid under shooters in the playoffs, but I do agree he does it, and so do a lot of guys. Bruce Bowen has to be the worst of all-time.

I have no ill will towards Lebron and I think he is a monster player and great for the NBA.

but I seriously saw him slide a foot under Danny Granger during the playoff tension.. That was the only time, granted but It was smooth and did the job.
