At this age with the skill set he brings he’s gonna be waiting awhile for a “respectable offer”…He’d be so much better off taking the minimum for one year, working his way back into full-time playing shape and showcasing what he can do for a raise next season…That being said, I’d rather have Shawne “Extra E” Williams on the roster because of his familiarity with the team already and the role he was able to play when he was here, something he was able to fill very well…I’d even take a flyer on Birdman for the hustle and energy he brings or Lou Amundson for the solid inside, off-the-bench, presence

I believe that the Knicks will be able to find a adequate backup power forward, I have been watching KMart since his days in New Jersey and he has always brought his hard hat and I respect his game but he is not worth mortgaging the future to obtain him, he will not drastically change the outcome of your team Melo was on tjat Denver team with KMart and he did not change the the outcome for the Clippers or Denver. The Knicks need young members with the ability to listen and consume instructions.

Should be a lesson to everyone……if you ever at any point have a tat of Tila Tequila’s lips on your neck……you will end up unemployed

I do think though from a personal stand point this is probably a good move by him. Seems like once you play for the minimum, you aren’t ever getting more than that. Especially if he was somewhat smart(big if considering his choice of tattoo) and saved up money from earlier in his career, then it might not be a bad idea to wait until a team has an injury or gets in a bind and needs a big man.

In a time where proven vets (Josh Howard, Marquis Daniels, etc) are having to workout for teams just to get a look, it doesn’t seem like K-Mart will be able to find much leverage with any team. Love the toughness and defense that he brings, but age and knees will keep teams from committing too much to him.
