If you truly subscribe to the notion of actively avoiding what is bound to be nonsensical postings based on the author, then by all means, do so. Whenever you see this lakerfellow has posted something, skip over it and move on with your basketball life. Additionally, if you feel that posters such as him contribute nothing of substance to basketball discussions, then spend all that time you waste calling him gay to elevate the discourse on your own. It does perplex me as to how in one statement you claim he contributes nothing of sound reason to basketball discussion and in the next statement glibly dismiss all the content on these boards as “trash talk”.

Besides the point, but relevant: I’m certainly not a Lakers fan. I look forward to watching them, because they have really good players, which make for really good teams, which makes for very enjoyable basketball. But my allegiances will forever lie with the Bulls, who are appear doomed to basketball purgatory for the next eight to ten years.

A mid to late 30s man professing his love for men like a teenage girl is just plain out there and wrong. It would be different if he had a worthwhile opinion on anything, but he is a loudmouth know nothing that thinks basketball only counted starting in 1980. He has no knowledge of the history of his own team let alone the NBA as a whole. He wants to have his own opinions, but not allow anyone else theirs. if you don’t agree with him you are a “hater”( God, I loathe that word).

Let’s assume they only drop a single game to the Clippers, Spurs, Thunder, Heat, and Celtics (the top teams), that leaves them with 5 losses. That allows them 4 more losses. There are still likely playoff teams such as the Knicks, Nets, Pacers, Grizzlies, Timberwolves, Mavs, Jazz, Nuggets, Sixers, Hawks, and Bulls they’d only be able to afford a single loss to SOME of those teams. Even if they were to go roughly 25-4 against those teams, that means they’d have to go undefeated against the rest of the league (meaning no off nights).

You factor in the fact that Howard is going to miss some games to start the season, Nash’s back is bound to cause him to sit out a few games, and they are an old team, it’s pretty tough to see that happening.

I like his confidence, but he just raised the bar that much higher.

But then again, he wouldn’t be “Metta World Peace” without these ridiculous statements right?
