Good to see Kobe giving back to the community. Thanks Kurt Helin for writing up a positive article about Kobe that eschews controversy, such a rare event from sports pundits. Kobe shouldn’t be forgiving on the court, nor should any athlete in any sport but they all should do more to give back to the fan base that pays them way too much. Go Lakers #1 !!

I feel the media is hyping this up too much and I’m not sure why. For better or for worse, since the whole rape charges in Colorado Kobe has done quite a lot for charity. Whether he really meant it or was just trying to rehab his image is up for debate, but the end result is not. He has always been a pretty generous dude, but thats not the stuff that makes it to the media. They only wanna talk about how he either shoots too much or is the most clutch player in the game or isn’t the most clutch player in the game. Either way, its nice to see him get some recognition for his charity work finally.
