Video: Blake Griffin can still dunk. Very, very hard.

Sep 10, 2012, 8:43 AM EDT

Oklahoma guard Buddy Hield is a confident man. And apparently not all that bright at times. He thought he could get up enough to block a Blake Griffin dunk during an workout (Griffin was back at his alma mater).

That goes about as well as you’d expect. He could have asked Kendrick Perkins or Pau Gasol or Timofey Mozgov or any of a bunch of NBA players who got in the way of the Griffin Express and got steamrolled. But it makes for a good video.

Hat tip to SLAM.

That’s good ’cause there ain’t much else in his game.

that was weak. The kid barely got his hand above the rim, and pulled his hand back before Griffin even starts bringing the ball down.

Video title should read “Griffin can still dunk, especially when nobody really tries to stop him”

During the average 3 hour football game, the ball is in actual play less than 3 minutes. In the average NBA game, the ball is in play constantly and the action is non-stop. This video is just a reminder of how much I miss the NBA! BTW great shot, Blake.

man have you ever seen the last two minutes of a basketball game? theres a time out or foul every possession. i like both sports, but saying basketball has non stop action is a joke. try rugby or soccer if you actually want non-stop continuous play

lol…I just like how Blake asked him, “You ready?” , right before yamming it on him.
