Why would he leave JUST to get paid? I mean he could go to Charlotte and get paid but that’s not a better team. He’s not going to leave one of the biggest markets in the country with one of the best players in the league to go somewhere else. Dont worry, Reinsdorf is going to pay him. Sorry, your team will have to keep who they have.

He also let Phil Jackson walk..how brilliant was that? And he was fine with blowing up the team when MJ retired.
The guy is a smart businessman. He had the season ticket holders good will and used it to the max. All he cares about is a full United Center.

Thibadeau most likely learned a hard lesson with Rose. Wherever he goes next…he most likely won’t repeat this mistake.

Reinsdorf let Phil Jackson walk. He also let Michael Jordan walk. What he wants is a full arena. Period. He had season ticket holders held hostage after Jordan and PJ left.

All he cares about is $$$$$$$ and making it. If I was Thibadeau, I would walk if I didn’t get what I wanted. He is a very good coach and has probably learned a hard lesson about not playing starters for too long..His main detractor on his coaching, IMO

You are right, another team WILL pay him…and this may end up to be how it plays out.

As I fan I want him to be there for a long time. Best coach they’ve had since Jackson. Also, as a fan, I’m saddened to see how this team has been dismantled. I feel like its going to be the 09-10 season all over again.

You wonder why they aren’t doing more of that….Deng is going to be a free agent and someone will overpay, Boozer is going to be amnesty, Rip is certainly not part of the future….time to get younger and build a new team around Rose for 2013 or 2014.

Love Thibs and he gets the team (ok not Boozer) ready to play each game like it’s game 7 of the finals, but…..he gets the team ready to play each game like it’s game 7 of the finals. You have to wonder if this wears players out and/or prevents them from having that “extra gear” come playoff time. The last couple years we have overachieved in the regular season and underachieved come playoff time. Everybody wants to say Reinsdorf is cheap but the guy is just a smart businessman. He doesn’t want to spend money he doesn’t have to so he drives a hard bargain.

Scott Brooks’ deal took awhile despite the fact that he had JUST led his young team to the NBA Finals.

These deals don’t get done until they have to, but they almost always get done. If Chicago doesn’t pay him, someone else will.
