Well Allen Iverson and Steve Francis were undisciplined, ball movement killers, and they were NBA All-Stars. I do agree with you in the aspect that they killed team play, but their entertaining play/talent still made them great players in the NBA. And sometimes the right coach can get players like that to buy into playing with the team instead of hero ball.

Are there 15 starting two guards better than JR or Tyreke? I say no, which by default means they are above average 2's in the best league on earth. So looks like none of your analysis - from not making it to the NBA to inability to play disciplined basketball - apply to either of these guys.

I really get tired of this meme that "streetball" is antithetical to the NBA. Go to an NBA game and see what moves get the biggest gasps and cheers from the crowds. Wet stepback j's, crossovers, alleys, behind the back passes and otherwise sweet handles. Guess where all of this originated? "Uh...at the playground for $1,000 Alex."

That's exactly what it was Kerem, another poorly veiled attempt at sarcasm. Both he and Matt use this way too much. Instead of just writing up what they saw on the tape they feel compelled to offer second class wit, sarcasm and glibness. It really is pathetic.

You’re going to find about as much defense as you will fans at the game snacking on foie gras —— is that a poverty joke? Some clever way to help your white readers (shoutout knightrider1755) understand the type of crowd this is?

Unfortunately for them, "streetballing" does not convert into the more disciplined and structured style of professional basketball. I've known many brilliant streetballers in my day who couldn't make it in the NBA once they got the opportunity. Many of them could never grasp the concept of "traveling" (we called it "walking" back then) and were prone to make incessant turnovers because of it. It is definitely a different style but far more for entertainment purposes than anything else.
