How the West will actually be won, free of media BS--

1. Win enough games to make the playoffs.
2. Win the first playoff series.
3. Win the second playoff series.
4. Win the third playoff series.

Just once, I'd love to hear a brainwipe announcer say, "Bill, what do the [fill in the blank] have to do to win this game?" and have his broadcast partner say, "Score more points than the other guys."

Agree Clippers should be higher and Paul and Griffin are amazing. Thought the article was overall better than most - had some meat anyway. Denver's McGee was just coming into his own in the playoffs last yr. Could be due to breakout. And Memphis is a tough matchup for the Clippers with their wide bodies inside. Also would bet on the Clippers over San Antonio if everyone's healthy.

The Clippers are hard to read. There's certainly enough talent on the roster, but I have doubts myself. I think Odom is on the downside of his already tumultuous career. Billups' health and age is a question mark. Griffin has gone through a couple serious knee injuries already. Can he take his game to the next level now? Crawford is a streaky player. If it all comes together, the Clippers could do some damage. I just don't see them on the same level as the Lakers or Thunder, or even the Spurs. Denver has gotten better and remember that it was a dogfight just to get past Memphis.

You can throw out regular season games. They mean nothing. Boston beat Miami 3 out of 4 last year in the regular season. When you factor in road trips, back-to-backs, particular injuries, teams having a great individual game, and so on, regular season meetings don't add up to a whole lot.

I agree with your reasons for why the Clippers will be good, but I also have Denver passing them, which would make them a 5 seed, which still isn't a step backwards. But then again, I could be totally wrong.

Clippers have a better chance backwards????

I think I get the gist, but hows abouts somebody doing a editing job on this article?

Clippers go backwards? I know this douche of a writer will not send in a retraction once the Clipps claim a top 3 spot. Did you forget we beat the Thunder 3 out 4 games last year? Had it not been for Chris Paul and Blake being severely banged up and completely spent that San Antonio series would have played out much differently.

We have the best PG in the league period. A power forward that is and will continue to be a perennial all star. Savvy veterans to defend and stretch the floor and a top 3 bench in the league. Yeah backwards douche.
