Collins isn’t trying to comapre Hawes to Gasol. Because that’s crazy Gasol is more talented with putting the ball on the floor etc. Collins just wants Hawes to play that style of game to the best of his abilities. Also by having two 7 footers on the floor at the same time could be a huge advantage for the 6ers against smaller lineups in the east. It will cause matchup issues on O as long as they can defend, and make them a force on the boards.

i am excited about the arrival of Andrew but with Hawes and Bynam who does that mean for the signing of Brown no one ia talking about him any more Andres has shown to be fragile & with all the big men we have who is going to score points Jrue & Evan are not very good scorers we need a 20 to 25 points a night player we have not addressed that

My first reaction was to LMFAO, but at second thought this is not a bad idea, plus it clears up a logjam at C and gives you two legit 7”0ers a la LA. I can kiiiinda see Hawes as a very poor to homeless man’s version of Pau Gasol. I think I like it!

I think it is a sound plan by Collins. Yeah, comparing Hawes to either Gasol is something of a joke, but he can contribute in the ways described. Philly will be an interesting team to watch this year.

Haha, your pessimism with the trade happening was quite memorable, yet you still want your pessimism to mean something in print. Yeah, Hawes is not Pau Gasol, but to say that you don’t
think the team improved that much by acquiring Bynum is a clear bias. You didn’t want the
trade to happen to begin with.
