Classy comment about a classy town. Derrick Rose is one of the most exciting and dominating guards I’ve seen in 3 decades of watching basketball. The NBA needs guys who can play at another level. Good luck to him and the great city of Chicago, non withstanding those Cubs.

Chicago could have afforded Wade & LeBron which would have made a sick team. The reason it didn’t happen is that Chicago refuses to pay the luxury tax and therefore could not afford to keep Deng or extend Rose & Noah. So it would be a sick team for maybe a year or two until they let everybody go.

Does any one not know he is in Chicago promoting his book. Of COURSE he is gonna say that!! It’s smart politics, nothing more. Yet everyone gets their panties in a twist. It’s possible CHI tempted him, but not enough to really make him abandon his plans to have James and Bosh join him in MIA since they had the space for all three and one of them would have been left out if he went to CHI.

Would love to see that happen but the Bulls have no cap space. Also, his terrible finals should’ve cost him that max deal he’d be looking for but, GM’s ALWAYS overpay so it won’t. Hell, they couldn’t even find a way to pick up OJ Mayo so Harden is nothing more than a dream.

As for D. Wade, you had a chance to go home and STILL win championships but, he chose to bring LBJ & Bosh to fake ass Hollywood aka South Beach. Like my fellow Bulls we see through it, they clearly had this worked before the off season. Enjoy them fake fans, in that fake city… Miami may even win another but, I got my money on D. Rose bringing titles to chitown

That’s what you don’t get…..here it doesn’t matter. Nobody blames DRose for getting hurt. For the same reason we worship guys like Rodman, Nocioni, Pippen, Pierzynski, McMahon. Maybe they’re not great but at least you know you got all these guys got……..this blue collar town and all we want is to see you show up with a lunch pail…..we’ll love you forever. Also why there is hate hear towards Miami. We know you got a great team, we would love Wade or LBJ tremendously if they came here but they didn’t….so we hate. These guys are Chicago guys in our minds, they play D, they play hard the whole game.

Oh no how awful adults take control of their own destiny within their chosen profession! It’s just unthinkable that something like that could happen. I mean what if they decide to open a restaurant after their career is done? I mean after all it would take years of planning, probably involve lawyers and agents. They may even have to clear out some lot space in order to build this restaurant in Miami. Wade hears he can get the best chef in the world for less than market value because he is a friend.

Are we going to hear about collusion then too?

The Bulls MUST get Rose some help. I like Noah but the rest of the roster just isn’t that good. At least not championship level good. I’m not even a Bulls fan but I hope there is a way they can get another star, or two, to play alongside Rose. Maybe James Harden? That would be a good start.

The final year in Cleveland LeBron requests a jersey number change with the league from 23 to 6 knowing he has to submit that a year before. Funny how the #23 was retired by the Miami Heat & not available. Also interesting how he came to this decision after going out to dinner with Pat Riley. Also interesting is how a playoff team with Diva Wade decides to dump payroll & create cap room. There was also an interesting slip by Riley in an interview at the start of the season where they dumped salary telling season ticket holders to have patience because they will build a dynasty.
If you don’t realize that this was all preplanned then you are just plain dumb.

yea totally agree, no problem with what they did (except for LBJ “decision”) but dont act like it just came together.

The 3 of them even talked about it in 08′ during the Olympics, and their agents had them do the same contract so they would be FAs at the same time. They could have gotten an extra year and more $, but they chose not to so they could team up. Melo’s agent made him take the extra year, and thats why he wasnt a FA at the same time (and why he is no longer his agent lol).

It was a done deal long before FA. Miami basically throwing away 2 years clearing cap space, and D Wade being ok with it? Yea, he didnt know LBJ and Bosh were coming…

Who cares? Im not a consipiracy theorist like others who have replied to this thread, I just wonder what is the point of bringing this up at all? When your with someone or some team, they dont want to hear about who you considered being with before you guys got together. You definitely don’t want to hear about it if you are the jilted party that wasn’t selected.

In the future, Wade should keep his mouth shut with regards to this topic. Its only going to annoy Heat fans and its not going to make Bulls fans feel better about him so he should just leave it alone.

even if that’s the case, that in no way interferes with the notion that seeing his name/number on the back of the jersey of a team he idolized as a kid nearly detoured their master plan of teaming up in miami.

on a smaller scale, college recruits who make verbal commitments early may end up changing their mind because they find out their isn’t an ihop around that campus.

The plan was to play together no doubt, it would not have worked with Chicago with rose being there( money wise). And there was no way they were letting go rose! And all three of them knew it! On the other hand Miami had more flexibility after trading Beasley. Thanks Chicago it makes up for the 2008 draft or was it 2009! Well you get the point! Thanks!
