Andray is talented. I don’t think anyone doubts that. Poor shot selection, bad attitude, fat at times. But talent he has. He’s gonna get a low salary cuz he got amnestied. If he gets on a team like the heat.. Wade, bron, bosh, dray, mario. Allen, battier, haslem, Lewis. That’s scary. Or even on spurs next to Timmy d. He should do well and is a low risk, high reward type in my opinion.

He would need to accept the veteran’s minimum, no doubt, since nobody is going to give a guy more than that who is in effect being paid to no longer be on the Wizards.

He mentions the Spurs and Heat, and they were the teams that come to mind – they’re both contenders who could use someone with height and athleticism, especially now with Dwight on the Lakers. They’re high-profile teams, meaning if he gets his act together, people will notice, and both teams have veteran players who will hold him accountable and can teach him how to approach the game as a professional.

Celtics are another possible team, but they already have a big-man project in Fab Melo, so I’m not sure if they’d want to add another.

honestly, his talent alone makes the path to redemption a bit easier and that’s a good thing. all he has to worry about is how teams feel about bringing someone like him aboard their team. he is doing some work with john lucas to improve his body and game. i think he should work on the character issues that have most teams (seems like all team considering he is still a free agent) hesitant to give him their money. he has to understand when you are signed by a team, you are representing more than your last name. you are representing a franchise and a city. teams are not just giving you money to slouch, get fat, play with low IQ and have boneheaded moments. they are making an investment. and when you do things that do not fit what they picked you up for they feel like idiots for cosigning you by putting their brand on your back. if he can refocus, bring some sort of professionalism and love of the game through hard work not just saying it. because you can say you love the game all you want, there are a ton of guys on the street who probably love the game more than you who are just scratching and clawing their way at a chance for a sniff to play in the NBA and HE is one of the rare people who actually have the talent and he is allegedly lazy. that is a habit he has to erase. imagine if he trained with tim duncan in the summer, got timmy to give blatche an endorsement..trust me..if blatche EVER got an endorsement from tim duncan, you can bet all 30 teams would be blowing up his phone in 5 minutes.

Sounds like he’s waiting to see if another contender is willing to pay him more than the minimum salary, which is all Miami is allowed to offer him. Or waiting for Miami to offer that minimum in the first place. They love reclamation projects down here, it wouldn’t surprise if it comes to that in another month or so.
