Star athletes should improve the supporting cast. He never did that in Philly. He was always the same player who took bad shots and never embraced the fans.

Not that simple. Certain teams overpay due to their SITUATION, like I explained earlier for the Nets. They couldnt lose their lottery pick for nothing, needed players to open new arena, and had to persuade D Will, so yea, they overpaid.

Nuggets (a team that knows what they are doing) wont. There are only so many “Nets” out there, if Iggy can find one, and they have cap room, good for him. But no playoff team will listen to Iggy’s Agent say “Hey Wallace got fair value, we want 5 million more than him.” Not going to happen.

If Nets dont trade for Wallace, he is playing for less than 8 million per, guaranteed. Better, younger players got less than that this summer. Nets were just in a bad situation.

Nets set a market value. Iggy and his agent will turn to the Wallace contract. Iggy will likely get that money, be it from the Nuggets or some other team.

Yes, Wallace (a lesser player) got 10 mil per, but that was too much for him. Just because one owner makes a mistake and overpays, that doesnt mean you follow his pay scale and do likewise.

Nets had to sign Wallace, or they would not be able to justify trading the #6 for him, just as a rental (in a year they were below .500). Trading a lottery pick for a guy for 1/2 a season, when you arent going to make the playoffs? Nets would have been laughed at, and people would have been fired.

Wallace deserved 7-8, Iggy deserves 9-11 million, depending on years. Dont overpay because Russian playboys are. Nets also traded for the worst contract in NBA, should the Nuggets do the same?

Agreed, Iguodola is going to make a good pay day and rightfully so. George Karl loves athletes who can defend and Iggy is definitely that. The Nuggets are going to be better with hum.

Gerald Wallace, a lesser version of Iggy, is making 10M per year. Iggy will get 12 to 13 mill per year.
