Video: Adidas to chronicle Derrick Rose’s comeback

Aug 15, 2012, 12:43 PM EDT

Derrick Rose is adidas big star. No offense Dwight Howard, you’re great and all, but it’s guards and wings that sell shoes. Big men, not so much.

So it’s a smart move by adidas to chronicle his comeback to the NBA through video series, a facebook page, and a twitter page. Good marketing.

My only hope is that the driven Rose doesn’t rush back too fast. What matters is really getting himself and his knee right, not pushing it to play a January game against the Warriors. Rose will want to come back before he is fully ready, as all driven players do. The Bulls have to hold him back until the doctors fully sign off. If it means this season is a wash, so what? Think big picture.

And what exactly will they do with this? I think it’s sort of unecessary. I mean, are they going to cut it down to a 15 or 30 second commercial? Or are they going to sell a feature-length version of a DVD on their website? Give the DVD away with all pairs of Rose shoes?

I’d rather see the journey of some normal guy actor working out and going through the transformation to some buff action hero, myself. That’s inspiring. I don’t see myself rehabbing to get back on the NBA hardcourt.

Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t really see the point.

Personally, I love that you gave yourself a thumbs up. Totally adds credibility to your statement.

After seeing that vIdeo, does anyone doubt he’ll back at some point 100 percent? He’s to focused and dedicated to the game not to be
