It’s the Lakers Dude. Great team in a great market with lot’s of endorsement deals and other opportunities available which acts as a magnet for future free agents. As someone else noted, the Lakers are rarely in a rebuild mode but usually in reload mode. The only thing “unfair” is the Laker front office is vastly superior to most of the teams. Celtics, Spurs and Heat come to mind of similar management skills. Compare to the clowns running the Knicks for example.

I dont think its so far fetched that he leaves. If money was the biggest factor, i have to believe hed still be in orlando. If they dont win the title this year, hes going to see what we all do. Bryant getting up there, gasol likely traded for not much, who knows with nash. He may see hes going to end up in the same situation with orlando if he stays there.

The Lakers have always been about winning it all THIS season. That’s worked out fairly well, to the tune of 16 championships. Love reading articles and comments questioning the judgment of the Lakers’ front office. As though giving your fan base high expectations of a title every year is somehow a bad thing. There are 20 or so other NBA teams with fans who can only wish the execs running those clubs could do the same. Well, I’ve spent enough time on childish entertainment here, time to go get some real work done. Thanks for the laughs!

Time is of essence for the Lakers and Kobe to win some more championships, they aren’t getting any younger. Nash and Howard should be hungry for rings and know that Kobe and the Lakers are their best bets to ever win some. The only fly in the ointment for the Lakers is Clueless Clown Brown, we can only hope this dim bulb can put the pieces together and figure out an offense for the whole team. All that’s needed now is to get rid of Steve Flake and get a better point guard for defense to keep ancient Nash from blowing it for the Lakers.

Actually they have 7 players 25 and under, before this trade and only two players over 35 (Nash and Jamison). Kobe is only 33, but he has been in the league for a very long time.

As the article says anything but a championship is a disappointment and that just is not fun. It means nothing when you win cos that is expected and just depresses you when you lose!

The Lakers dropped a couple games to the Thunder in the playoffs because they couldn’t close out games. It’s not like they were blown out. Now they just got an extra push defensively from Howard as well as more athletic in rotations and pick and rolls. Don’t forget Nash who is a huge upgrade from Sessions in ball distribution, play making and basketball IQ. Everyone is screaming how old Nash is but its production that matters and his production last year still places him among the most elite PGs in the league regardless of age. The Lakers were formidable opponents for the Thunder last season but always came up short. Add Nash, Howard, Jamison and Meeks and they are as good if not better than OKC.

I sense a lot of hate on here & no reality! I’m just gonna put it this way….the Lakers could & should of beat OKC last season with no Howard, no Nash, no Antawn Jamison(averaged 18 pts a game last year), no Jodie Meeks, and you people really believe they shouldn’t be able to beat the Thunder??? Do you watch basketball? Nash & Howard on pick and roll should be the best pick and roll combo in the history of basketball. Correction, the lakers don’t have the best starting five, they have a formidable starting five.If this was 2008 or 2009 and they had this lineup that could be said but on the contrary its not.I still don’t believe they will come out of the west.Lets not forget D Howard can’t make free throws and the Thunder do have H. Thabet and K Perkins Laker fools.
