You are missing the point. It is our compassion towards those who don’t have the same intelligence as us that distinguishes us from them to begin with. An animal works off self-preservation and instinct. What separates man from animal is his ability to put aside his self interest to help others.

I like dogs but 10,000 to save it? We have people. People dying of hunger and we want to save animals? Humans need to get their priorities straight. How can we value animals greater than ourselves?
