Wow, I’m usually one to defend people who point out racism, but your claim is beyond absurd. First in most of the cases that you point to the athlete was the one who was DOING WRONG, rather than being the victim of it. So of course it is going to be talked about more. Second, “athletes behaving badly” sells ads. (Side note, if you bothered to pay any attention, NBC has plastered the photo of every athlete who has been sent home from the Olympics for behaving badly on the front of their TV and online coverage. So far, ALL of these athletes have been white.) Third, Artest is a unique case because of the way HE has behaved over the years. He draws attention to himself, even when (for once) he is a victim rather than a transgressor. Fourth, Kobe brought all that on himself. He’s as big a public figure as there is. While married, he clearly put the moves on a woman who was not his wife. She accused him of rape. That is going to be big news no matter guilt or innocence. Then he spends something like $4 million on a ring to keep his wife from leaving him. That is going to be big news no matter what.

It was a positive story about a well-liked NBA player getting married. There is something wrong in your soul if you feel it necessary to p*** on that for no reason.

You’re an idiot. She was never pregnant. Much like all of her other scheming and conning, she lied about being pregnant as well. The court ordered pregnancy test came back negative. Besides, the kid would be like 2 years old at this point, don’t you think something somewhere on the internet would point out he has a kid that he has nothing to do with (like Larry Bird and his daughter from his first marriage).

The woman he landed is ridiculously good looking (maybe even really really ridiculously good looking) and sounds like she’s actually a pretty good person as well.

Its funny how that storied got buried right? If this had happened to a “brotha” they would have talked about it every time he played on tv. I dont care who puts a thumbs down bc Im right. When Kobe went through his thing, thats all we heard about. When Artest had his domestic incident (he was the one who was hit by his wife fyi), thats all we heard about. Jason Kidd, Zach Randolph, etc…I can go on and on about guys who have had lesser “scandals” and it was talked about EVERY time they played a game on national tv.

I bet most ppl have never even heard this story before. So hate me if you want but Im just saying..

Oh my bad, Cristal Taylor was given a 5-year prison sentence (whilst carrying Dirk’s baby) for forgery and theft. He must not have pressed charges for the domestic abuse. Also I heard she got full custody having a more paternal presence than Dirk.
