Report: Josh Childress drawing interest from Wizards

Aug 7, 2012, 5:05 PM EDT

Golden State Warriors vs Phoenix Suns

There are still some good players out there on the free agent market. Not game changers, not guys swinging the balance of power anywhere, but some decent role players.

Such as Josh Childress. He was amnestied by the Phoenix Suns and is looking around for a new landing spot. The Wizards are interested, according to Michael Lee of the Washington Post.

Probably a long shot, but ‪#wizards are among a handful of teams that have expressed interest in Josh Childress, according to a source

Childress did not work well in Phoenix after returning from Greece, but he might work better in a different system.

But Lee is right, the Wizards are an odd fit and they don’t really need him. Not at the two guard anyway. They have Bradley Beal likely to start at the two and behind him they have Jordan Crawford and are trying to develop. Childress could back up Trevor Ariza at the three but again it’s not terribly pressing.

My guess is Childress signs closer to camp, we’ll have to see where.

Not a fan but,I think the wizards will definitely make the playoffs! Or at least make a push for the 8th or 7th seed. Let’s go 6,3,1

Right Kevin Seraphin, the world’s only 6’11”, 280 pound shooting guard. Poor fit for the Wizards. While they don’t seem playoff ready, they are finally putting a decent team together: Washington’s only real needs at this point are team chemistry and a competent coach.

I don’t really mind the spelling errors on here, but I definitely did a double take when I read that.

Also, hasn’t Seraphin been playing for a few years, not “just-drafted”…

Take it from a life long bullets fan..,. We suck!! Until Ernie Grunfield is shown the door we are doomed.

Ernie Grunfield seems to have a knack for having his hands in putting together losing teams.

Not so sure we “suck”, but Grunfeld has got to go.
