We have made it through the bulk of free agency.

Fans are always looking for the next, best thing, the guy who can come in and make a difference. It’s now August and time to be honest — any guy who can really help your team has already been picked up. There are a few respectable role players left, each trying to get more money than teams are willing to shell out at this point. But the guys who make a big difference are gone.

Still, there are some names you know still out there. Here is a list of the key free agents on the market (this is not a complete list), by position, and in alphabetical order).

Covet them if you want. Just don’t over value them.

Point guards: Leandro Barbosa (really a combo guard), Derek Fisher, Jonny Flynn and Jannero Pargo.

Shooting guards/Small forwards (swingmen): Matt Barnes, Josh Childress, Carlos Delfino, Ryan Gomes, Tracy McGrady, Dominic McGuire, Jodie Meeks and Mickael Pietrus.

Power forwards/Centers (bigs): Ivan Johnson, Kenyon Martin, Darko Milicic, and Anthony Tolliver.

Doubt they would play for the vet min, but either Martin or Barnes for the NYK final roster spot would be awesome. Some more D and attitude off the bench

It would be cool if t-mac came back to houston. He’s not really a 3 but he would get minutes behind chandler parsons. Kinda random I know but it would be interesting

these free agents should form a D-league team and tear up it.

T-Mac should sign with the heat to ensure they don’t get out of the first round. He’s cursed.

I know he’s “technically” been out of the first round, but you know what I’m getting at.

Darko. Darko, Darko. The draft was LeBron and then Darko ahead of Carmelo, Chris Bosch, and Dwayne Wade to name a few

Dude, Barbosa,Gomes, Delfino, Meeks, Martin, and Pietrus could all help a contending team get over the hump. Actually, I hope Barbosa or Meeks sign with my LAKERS and help them get No. 17!!

Whatever happened with Flynn? I remember him coming out of Cuse’ early, getting drafted & traded between Min/Hou but never heard much after that. He fall out of synch, can’t shoot or have bad work ethics? Seemed like teams were high on him for a minute.

T-Mac to the wizard or lakers calling it

  14. lakerluver - Aug 4, 2012 at 11:57 AM

Please, the LAKERS don’t want T-Mac!! They considered it last season and passed. Don’t think they’re going to do it now.
