Just pathetic. Rex Grossman said before the 2011 season that he really thought the Redskins could go to the NFC championship. Obviously that was not realistic and he was ridiculed, and the whole statement came of as completely ridiculous. However, it did show that he believes in his team, and teams can’t win unless their leaders believe in them. While it does cause me internal anguish to ever associate Rex Grossman with the word “leader”, he is clearly superior to Randy Wittman in this regard. “I want to believe we can make the playoffs”. Who says that? If I was Ted Leonsis, I’d fire him on the spot for a comment like that. People love to hate Rex Ryan and his yearly promises of Super Bowls, but the guy has confidence, and even stupid confidence is better than waffling, pessimistic indecisiveness:
“I am considering the possibility that maybe, at some point in the future, that I may decide to hope that the playoffs may be worthy of consideration.”

Screw that. Screw this guy.
