You’re right…Durant and Lebron would give the DT fits, because they simply do not have the personnel to guard either of them.

I also think that Russell Westbrook shouldn’t be overlooked…he’d blow by any of the DT’s guards. That guy is crazy fast and athletic.

But DT is still better b/c they have the ability to score in the post, and clog the post on the defensive end. They would force the current team to shoot jumpers (which has been the current team’s achilles heal…Argentina almost beat them with that strategy…).

I don’t buy into all the nostalgia for the Dream Team. Barkley, Malone, Robinson & Ewing were all very good and HOF players, but today’s scoring PFs in Lebron, Durant, and even Carmelo were just as good. Carmelo is actually the most similar to Barkley when he’s in the post.

But the Dream Team was more complete. Tyson Chandler has looked terrible. He can’t stay out of foul trouble. Maybe if Duncan and Howard were on the current team, I’d say they are better than the DT. But not this team as is.

You do realize Charles Barkley is 6’6 and Karl Malone is 6’9 right? If the basis of your argument is that Charles Barkley is going to post up a 6’10 Kevin Durant you must be smoking something really good. Fat Charles would be run off the court by the second period.

But if you want to talk about posting up, Lebron at 6’8 250 would post up a 6’6 200 pound Jordan all day every day. MJ wouldn’t be able to guard Lebron. I wonder how Malone would do guarding Durant on the perimeter. Durant would blow by him like he was standing still.

92 had 2 7 foot centers. After that the tallest player was 6’9 and that was Malone and a way past his prime Bird. People making way too much do the size issue. 2012 team is much more athletic than 92.

Your argument is like saying the 72 Dolphins, the only undefeated team in the NFL would have beaten this years NY Giants. The Giants would have beat them by 30

Dude, that’s like saying if I were 7 inches taller and could dribble better my game would resemble a young Magic Johnson’s. But seriously, I get your point. Kobe has every move MJ had and in some regards he’s better. I know a lot of MJ lovers won’t admit it though. The only way to settle this debate is to have seen them play against each other in their primes. I can honestly say that the two greatest wing players I’ve ever seen in my 40 plus years are MJ and Kobe probably in that order. However, LeBron has a chance to join them.

Go watch some old games from the late 80′s of MJ and you will see it. Its the athletic attacking of the basket and being able to adjust at any moment even in the air.

The jumper is not similar at all. Wades game is clearly influenced by attempting to mimick MJ’s game by a kid growing up in Chicago.

You must have never seen Pippen play. Pippen is so long. Its basketball not football, move your feet, beat the man to the spot. Pippen would do just fine vs Lebron, would Lebron get around 20 sure, because he is a great player, but Pippen would torch him for 20ish going the other way.

Lebron plays a bit choppy , its not fluid, its real strong and angry. He is so talented though, and one of the best to ever play.

The best way to describe Kobes game is that he is the worlds best MJ cover band.

If DWade were taller his game most resembles the younger MJ, minus the fundamentally sound pure stroke jumper MJ had. You can tell Wade watched MJ all the time growing up in Chicago.

Iam glad that I got to watch him play live and play his entire career. Jordan was the best ever.

Kobe and LeBron are RIGHT. Jordan is the only member of DT would could keep up with the current team. Everyone is getting overly romantic about the DT. They didn’t play anybody, Bird and Magic were way past their primes, no one on DT could’ve stopped LeBron…let’s keep it real, friends.
