I’ve stated twice in this thread its not JUST about money. It’s about the PENALTIES that go along with going into luxury tax terrain.
These restrictions will be there, affecting the mid level exception the sign and trade and other things.
It’s all there in black and white. I don’t sound smart. I sound informed.
You are the one with your head buried deep up your own hind end.
Sputtering that they won’t let the Lakers become the T-Wolves.
If they keep down the road of spending they are on, they will.

Like so many others have tried to get through that block you call a head, the marquee teams will pay the tax penalties to win a title. That’s what you can’t seem to comprehend. The difference in the NFL and the NBA is Stern left the NBA owners a loophole. In other words, “you can still stock your team but you will pay more in taxes”. As long as that tax loophole exists parity in the NBA is a myth. The NFL has a “true” salary cap. Do you really think the Buss family will let the LAKERS become the Timberwolves? You think they would let all those lovely luxury suites and high priced court-side seats go empty?! Do you actually think they would let all those Hollywood celebs just desert the Staples Center?!! When Jones deal is done, he isn’t going anywhere. He’s not playing for less than 15 mil per year. Add Bynum at a max deal You are already at 35, add another max deal and you are at the cap for 3 players.

Now in 2013-2014, if you are over the cap(which the Lakers will be) it restricts player movement(no sign and trades etc.)

How are you Laker fans this obtuse? It’s mind numbing. Teams can’t and will not be able to operate as they have been.

You should really look into reading the cba. That’s ok, you just keep thinking that nothing has changed. It’ll be funnier that way when the ship sinks.
