Stern is just trying to take the negative attention away from crybaby diva Howard by blaming his agent Fegan for the drama. Howard is a marketing asset to the NBA even though he’s as whiny and difficult as a woman on the rag.

If this is somehow news to the team, they’re complete and utter dumbasses. Shocker – the guy who has been demanding a trade since last December wants no part in playing for you anymore! This idea that Dwight only recently told them he wouldn’t play for them anymore is idiotic. But then the PBT staff has the gall to make it out like Dwight’s team is the one doing all of the major narrative massaging.

To the best of my knowledge, Texas has no state income tax, but an athlete’s income isn’t just taxed in his home state, the portion of it he earns playing in each arena is taxed by that locale. For example, a Portland Trail Blazer would have half his income taxed at the Oregon rate, 1/41 taxed at the Colorado rate, 1/41 taxed at the Minnesota rate, etc.

I’m no fan of Stern but I stand with him on this. Dan Fegan is the biggest culprit why this mess is still going on. I keep counting the days when Howard will grow enough sense to fire this fool. He’s getting terrible advice from this guy. The teams Fegan trying to force Howard to join makes no financial sense.

New York and L.A. is the WORST place for Howard to play. A whooping 20% -30% of his base salary will get eaten up by massive taxes playing in states like that. If he got a list of teams, he should narrow it down to Houston and Dallas. And don’t overlook Houston! Lin is a Rockets and the Asian Market is well established with that city. If I was advising Howard, the Rockets is the team to play for.

Texas has no state income taxes. Couple that with the Asian Market and a base salary of 116 million for 5 years, why the “F” would you turn that down, Howard? You getting major bang for your buck, dude! On top of that, the team is young, energetic with high upside —- Jeremy Lamb, Terrence Jones, Royce White and Motiejunas. Are you kidding me!?!?!

Instead, Fegan want you to go to L.A. to team up with a 38 year old PG. A 34 year old Kobe. A 32 year old Pau Gasol. A 30-something year old Metta Peace. A older bench with Jamison—- are you assessing this correctly, Howard?? The prognosis for playing in L.A. is a big thumb down. Injuries is most likely to bite all of them in the a** and you stuck carrying a load you wouldn’t be able to bare.

It’s destiny for you to be in Houston rather you see that or not. The team clear out their entire starting 5 just about. Hakeem Olajuwon is willing to work with you for a full season —- dude is coming from Jordan to stay a season in the states just to make your transition to the Rockets smooth as possible. You already have Lin there and a young nucleus. This is Destiny, Howard. Open your eyes and realize that!

L.A. is a great place to visit. To play there? Forget it. You’d be a 3rd option behind Kobe and Pau with a chunk of your check going to illegal aliens to have a better life in L.A.. This is un-befitting of your stature, dude. Texas is the right place and the Rockets should be on your list.

You’d be in the right company with the Rockets. They got a rich tradition of big men. It’s a no-brainer. With Dallas, if this is what you want, go for it. I don’t see how you fit that situation though…..even the Spurs would lake more sense than the Mavs but they just as old as the Lakers.

Try to get a second opinion from another agent, if you got pulls like that and see what they say. I bet any agent besides Fegan would tell you Texas make sense, financial-wise and the Rockets would be ideal.

Stern knows that Florida has no state income tax so Howard stands to lose a lot of money even in a max contract deal if he goes to either Cali or NY. So does his agent. So Stern will keep a close eye on this soap opera for any shady dealings.We all know Dolan can be stupid but huge advertising $$$ does talk. Cuban is not stupid but is playing waiting game for 2 years. Texas has low income tax, I still think Houston is in the thick of it, If fegan can shut up for a minute.

David Stern threw Howard’s agent Dan Fegan under the bus I’m sure it was either Dan Fegan, Howard or someone from the Nets.

There must not be any tampering rules in the NBA because to me the Nets have been tampering with every free agent since last year the NBA needs to get tampering rules ASAP.

How isn’t the NBA fixed they Allow Lebron to the Heat but not Paul to the Lakers and the Cavs got the number 1 pick after trading Lebron then the next year the Hornets get the number 1 pick after trading Paul some how the Magic will end up with the number 1 pick why not make it 3 years in a row.
