The Olympics has shown us that Melo is a shooter, not a baller. Surround him with real basketball players, and he can be your scorer. Expect him to play a full court game, and you get the Knicks.

I have a generally low opinion of Melo as a superstar, I don’t think he does the little things that make guys like Kobe or Lebron great, nor does he play hard enough on D. But he has been amazing in the Olympic warm ups and destroyed Pau in the Spain game. I bet Knicks fans are regretting the Amare contract even more right now, as well as the fact that they haven’t put together a team more than a collection of big name players who are overpaid. Classic Knicks, looking forward to more of the same this year, without the feel good Lin factor.
