Sixers sign their rookies Harkless, Moultrie to contracts

It’s that time of year when pen hits paper and a lot of deals we knew were set become official.

That includes rookie deals, and the Wizards have inked both Moe Harkless and Arnett Moultrie, the team announced.

Harkless moves into a crowded swingman rotation in Philly where he will have to fight for playing time. That said, you can expect he and his potential to become the new favorite of the “we should trade Andre Iguodala” set.

Moultrie will try to earn minutes off the bench behind Spencer Hawes and Kwame Brown. Which means you’d like to think if he plays well he could take some minutes away from one of them. He’ll have his chance, but Doug Collins trusts rookies like you trust the IRS, so he’s going to have to earn the run.

“but Doug Collins trusts rookies like you trust the IRS” Thats a good line and largely true, but last year he showed a good bit of trust in Vuc early and certainly Allen in the playoffs.

treading water??? sorry, that’s appropriate for a team like Boston. its more like “on the rise” for the sixers: 2010: missed the playoffs, 2011: 1st rd exit, 2012: 2nd rd exit, 2013: ???

I hate when people run their mouth without knowing any facts. Get educated!
