Who is “over-rating” Perkins?

No one has ever said he was an all-star. His contract averages about $8 million a year. That’s pretty much average for an undersized center who can play a little D and grab a few rebounds and points.

If OKC wants a premier center they need to look elsewhere – and pay a lot more.

They might have been hoping he would develop further but they pretty much knew what they were getting when they traded for him and extended his contract.
