Shane Battier is one of the more thoughtful guys in the league and you could tell as he got into the circus of the NBA finals that he was trying to soak in the experience. He wanted to enjoy this.

This weekend he is in Lake Tahoe for a celebrity golf tournament and swung by the NBC Sports Talk set and talked about winning a title at Duke and now with the Miami Heat. He also talked about LeBron James and more.

Personally, I watch this video and miss Lake Tahoe. It’s one of the most beautiful places on the planet.

Battier, despite signing with the Heat, is a classy dude. Like him alot.

    Ya kno,

I’ve NEVER liked anybody that is a DOOKIE !!!

    BUT…..Battier has always been:

    1. A smart guy and eloquent speaker
    2. Good citizen of any town he’s lived in
    3. Never been involved in any kind of scandal
    4. One of the most humble guys, that is also a multi-millionaire, many times over
    5. Any parent would want this dude to be their son or hope their son immulates him
    6. No tatto’s, no baby momma’s running around, he don’t owe no body 5 dollars….where did you find this dude, in a cave somewhere….ahahahahahahaha (Katt Williams).

Ya gotta root for a guy like that, who is so refreshing to see. So, because of his body of work (as mentioned above) I will forgive him for being a “DOOKIE” !!!

    ahahahaha

Ya know, all the things you talk about could be related to the fact that he is a “DOOKIE” as you so eloquently put it. There are quite a few “DOOKIES” who are also what you said in #’s 1-6…Grant Hill…Elton Brand…etc.

I am so glad this guy plays for the team I root for. Miami found something special when they put him into the starting lineup playing “combo forward” alongside James. This dude defended 3-5 on the regular, and then gets his shot going when the lights shone brightest….Nasty!

This is the one guy on the Heat I am happy got a ring – Battier is a consummate professional, gives 100% effort on every play, is an intelligent, savvy veteran and great team mate. It was hard watching the Heat win it all but it wasn’t hard to be happy for Battier who has the heart of a champion

Consummate professional, this guy is. I’ve always liked Shane’s game & approach since he was at Duke. Although not considered a superstar, he just has “IT”. He gets it and understands the value of being a team player never concerning himself with Me, Me, Me or I, I, I… It’s all about WE. Congrats to you, Mr. Battier

He’s been a great addition. Tough on D and can hit the 3ies. Seems like a good guy too.
