I didn’t say he got the trade killed, I said he threw a tantrum over it. True. Also, unless you’re going to claim that the letter was forged, whether it was intended to be private or not doesn’t change the fact that it was written. I know that your life’s miserable if you’re in Cleveland, but really, people would be ripping Dan Gilbert for being a giant douchenozzle regardless of what team he owned. They’re not all out to get you just because of the city your team is located in. Get over yourself.

regardless of what cleveland,lakers and magic talk about,the rocketsare in the best position to offer orlando what they want.the lottery pick they have from toronto is higher than any pick cleveland can offer andlakers have basically no pick worth value.bynum had said rockets were top of his list befroe all this started.he said if he hits free agency rockets were #1.now ith lin there and all that asin endorsement money the stakes are raised.plus texas has no state income taxes.its either gonna be bynum going to rockets in 3 team deal with howard going to la or howard will go to rockets.they know he sint gonna play much this season as why they are signing asik from bulls.there will be to much money on the table if he is tradedto houston for him to not resign.they will be able to offer him most money by 20 million and not to mention chinese endorsement money now!! just like when yao was there mcgradys jersy was # 1 selling jersey in china!!!

Are you unaware of the truth of the CP3 trade regarding Gilbert or just don’t care? His email to Stern, which was meant to be private and leaked from someone, was sent after the deal was already killed (Adrian Wojnarowski reported this).

What do you have to gain by blasting Dan Gilbert for something that multiple owners were reported as doing (though no other one was publicly named or the emails leaked to the public).

This is just as bad as the myth of the Amar’e-Hickson trade. People saying that the Cavs refused to trade JJ when Steve Kerr admitted he was the one that pulled the plug on the deal.

I guess its okay to ignore facts as long as it helps people bash Cleveland though.

If Gilbert actually facilitates Howard going to the Lakers, after that tantrum he threw over the CP3 trade… man, talk about a whole new level of chutzpuh. Especially since Orlando’s return here would be way worse than what the Hornets would have gotten from LA and Houston for Paul. So basically, the Lakers aren’t allowed to trade for stars unless it helps Dan Gilbert’s team.

Although has lost a ton “cool points” in the character department with me, I definitely agree with the Howard over Bynum statement. I’ve been a Lakers fan for as long as I can remember. I even suffered through the talented but sloppy team of the 90s. The Cedric Ceballos, Eddie Jones #25, Vlade Divac, Nick the Quick days. If you don’t think Howard is not an upgrade over Bynum (the Randy Moss of the NBA) then you’re obviously smoking something illegal or simply have a blind eye towards talent.

Going after Dwight seems futile at this point because it’s clear he wants to join the Nets. If Mitch Kupcheck doesn’t throw every wild possible trade he can think of at Orlando “right now”….. he will face an onlaught of scrutiny, speculation, and questioning from the fanbase and LA reporters for years and years to come. It’s just the way it is…

Seems like the intent of my previous post was misunderstood.

Pro basketball is not suffering from a lack of news worthy stories. The editors should make an attempt to offer more choices. It seems like every fourth story is about DH. For starters, how about giving some space to non-american pro ball. The number of players entering the NBA clearly shows that good ball is being played outside of the US. And women play professional basketball too.

If Orlando trades who I think is the 3rd best player in the NBA after Lebron and Durant for Anderson Varejo and some draft picks while helping make another eastern conference team better, they might as well just shut the franchise down.
