Video: Blake Griffin injures knee at Team USA practice

Jul 12, 2012, 8:04 PM EDT

This is the practice where Blake Griffin injured his knee. An injury that required him to leave Team USA and head back to Los Angeles for an MRI and to be looked at by Clippers team doctors.

You can’t tell a lot from the video, particularly the second play, the view is obscured. It was just a fluke thing on a landing after an “I’m not just surrendering the dunk” foul.

Hat tip to the fantastic international hoops site Sportando for finding this video.

Looks to me like it was Cousins who hit Blake in mid-air and caused him to land awkwardly. Just the other day Melo said that Cousins was fouling everyone. There were some other comments about Cousins’ immaturity, bad attitude, lack of respect and unnecessary roughness. Too bad they didn’t just get rid of him then. I think that it was a bad idea to put Cousins on the Select team. He is bad news. We now don’t get to see Blake at the Olympics because of this malcontent punk.
