Never said one word about the Heat in any of my comments here. Never said the Knicks shouldn’t sign Lin. They should. Never said the Lin/Kidd backcourt was bad. It isn’t.

All I said is that Lin wasn’t disrespected by the Knicks. And he wasn’t.

Lin hit the Lotto when NY gave him the chance. Rookie contracts are generally 3 years. Due to ineptitude (and the Knick opportunity) Lin lucked into 7.5 million a year. Knicks owe him no apology. a s a Harvard graduate, he should understand this.

But he did carry the knicks on a 12-2 run and back into the playoffs. Now he has a true point guard to learn from.

let me get this straight…. Rockets: a guy you cut earlier in the year plays like 25 games for another team and is now worth $30 mil to you?!?! Im not saying Jeremy Lin is not good, but in no way do i think he is worth that kind of money. He had an amazing stretch of games….albeit versus some over the lower teams in the NBA. When he started playing better competition, he kind of got exposed.

truth: Nowhere in either of my posts to 1972 did I ” tell him(or others) how to post”.

I did say his act has worn thin.
I did say he was a know nothing loudmouth.
I did say that he should give it up.
I did say if Lin would sign with Miami, he would be slobbering all over how great he was.
I did say that posters like him are the reason I and many others root against the Heat/Lakers.
All facts. I guess the “truth hurts.”.

Of course Miami will do what they do – win or lose. Do you really think that any of these posts affect the outcomes of games. Di you secretly harbor hope that Wade or Bron bron read these posts for motivation purposes? Uff.

No question Lin and the Knicks got spanked that game. By the time that game rolled around:

1. You’ll recall that Magic purportedly spoke with Lebron & Wade and told them they can’t let the Knicks come into their house and school them. So they were amped up already for this match.

2. Every team was keying in on Lin to try to stop him. When he first started getting all the national attention, he was still largely unknown and teams were trying to find the weaknesses. Factor in point 1 above with this and you have a Heat team that was super motivated to beat the Knicks and shut down Lin as well.

Definitely not a pretty game. That said, I saw that result coming a mile away! I knew the Heat wanted to give Lin a “welcome to the NBA, kid” kind of game.

“Is he worth this much money, at the moment, no, but only time will tell.”

You’re right about that; however, aside from all the marketability, he’s still a kid that hasn’t hit his prime yet. I’d rather that the Knicks invest in a young talent that can grow with the team than someone past their prime. Know what I mean?

When compared to the best PG’s in the game; Limited skill set and a backup at best. ie.. See game against the Nets Deron Williams. He abused the kid, as well as the Heat. Mario Chalmers embarrassed him. If your in it to make a lot of money via the Asian market. Great Move. If you want a Championship. BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD.

Magic Johnson has said many things and he has been wrong. And as for Lin splitting defenders, those defenders did not know the first thing about playing defense. Lin could not split the Heat — 1-11 with 8 turn overs in a spanking. Is he good, yes, when he is not playing with the bottleneck ball hog of Caramelo. Is he worth this much money, at the moment, no, but only time will tell.
