The $2.4 mil the Mavs saved, you said is still a lot of money for Mark Cuban. I think of it as just setting aside some “David Stern fine money” for next season. Kind of like a pre-paymen plan or layaway program.

They will keep him to stay above the cap. That entitles them to their midlevel exception and their biannual, both of which would be lost if we bought him out. He’s staying. We get a good stretch four (who wants to be in LA and should produce like it) and we get two other solid signings out of it. Good move by the clips to turn a guard into an expiring forward.
