He was a ‘steal’ because generally you don’t find players who are that good that late in the draft.

The chances that any of the picks in the mid twenties (and later on) will be as good as Blair are small. Everyone’s optimistic about all the draft picks on the day of the draft, but after a couple of years, reality kicks in, and it is likely that most of the 2012′s draft’s most productive players were picked in the lottery, with a handful outside of it.
He may be a matchup problem against certain teams

The Spurs are probably thinking of a particular player, who’d fit well within their system.

Get your point, but decent kills you in the NBA. Charlotte is better off keeping their #2, sucking next year, get another lottery, and then see what happens. Making moves that make you the 7-12 team in the conference leave you in mediocrity the way the NBA is set up. Oh, and N.O will match any offer on Gordon (even if that means overpaying him and trading him to a desperate team b4 deadline, like Nuggets did with Nene) so thats not happening.

Solid player and as someone previously stated would be perfect for teams like the Heat, maybe even the Bobcats who need to save money but still need quality athletes on the floor to pick up some boards and score some points. Pick up Blair and Gordon before the draft pairing them with Kemba Walker and get a stud in the draft and you’re looking at a decent little lineup to make some games interesting. At the very least Charlotte should make a run to get him, get a decent small forward in the draft and you’ll have a decent little nucleus to build the future around.

Can’t be any worse than any other player Jordan has gone after.

Blair is a beast in the paint. Unbelievable the way Blair can double-clutch and score around the rim. Spurs will regret trading him!

Blair is a solid, but limited player. That’s why they are willing to trade a guy who they boasted as the “steal” of the draft a few years back.

Except he’s not really a big and that’s why he’s of no use. Good in the regular season, but in the playoffs when defense is king, short guys find the bench
