The deal we reported to you earlierLamar Odom to the Clippers, Mo Williams to Utah and a lot of cash savings to Dallas — will go forward, reports the Associated Press.

Earlier in the day it was the Dallas Morning News that broke the news the deal was in place. But it was contingent upon Mo Williams picking up his $8.5 million option for next season.

Williams will do that Friday, a source told the AP. Multiple reports say the deal not yet final because Williams picking up the option not yet official, but it will be by Friday.

It is not known yet whether the Clippers will keep Odom, who could provide versatile depth off the bench behind Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan, or if they will buy him out on Friday. Odom is owned $8.2 million next season but can be bought out for $2.4 million. While you can say the Clippers can use him on the court, don’t underestimate owner Donald Sterling trying to save money.

Mo Williams returns to the team that drafted him in Utah, where they could use his scoring.

Dallas ends the Lamar Odom saga that did not go well for them. Odom never mentally got in a place to play for the Mavericks, setting them back this year as they needed his spark off the bench.

Odom is worthless. Hopefully the Clippers buy him out and he just goes away. He can have more time to hang out with his fat wife.

Great post Jeff, your Maxim cover model wife agrees I’m sure. Go update your online profile and shut up! Clipper got a nice piece coming off the bench.

That’s was Dallas thought last year.

      • savvybynature - Jun 28, 2012 at 11:17 PM

Yeah a really nice piece, piece of sh…

      • itsthemelman82 - Jun 29, 2012 at 12:08 AM

Odom is a great piece if he’s happy… He obviously wasn’t happy in Dallas. He did do ALOT of pouting & yes as a pro he should have thicker skin than that but, we’re all different. he’s back in LA where he wanted to be with his family so yes, he should have a better season.

Odom can help. He does have 2 titles. I think losing Mo Williams hurts the Clippers more than people think.

    • stoudemelo - Jun 28, 2012 at 8:51 PM

      Odom is terrible

    • chashorn - Jun 28, 2012 at 10:45 PM

“Odom can help”….You know, that’s just what Mavs fans said last year when the got a “steal” in trading for him. He ruined their season with his whining and moping and feeling sorry for himself. Clippers would do well to rid themselves of him quickly.

Odom and his fat wife need to go away.

  4. censoredpost - Jun 28, 2012 at 9:05 PM

Dude went through serious personal stuff last year. He still is one of the best guys off the bench if not as a starter. Say it ain’t so LO. Your dating the ugly step sister in real life and on the court now.

      HahAHa ….you know it’s true!!

  5. jmclarkent - Jun 28, 2012 at 9:06 PM

As a Jazz fan, I am excited to get Mo for nothing – my only issue is that I think we really need a pass-first point guard with the offense we run.

  8. fm31970 - Jun 28, 2012 at 10:46 PM

This buy out or no buy out could have a big impact on the rest of the league. If the Clips buy him out, he will re-sign with the Lakers. He clearly wants to be back in L.A., and are the Clippers really willing to let him go to the Lakers, when they will be battling with them for playoff position next season? Yes, they’ll save $6M, but he is worth that if his mind is right when he’s back in L.A., even as a sixth man.

The Clips just got better. Tomorrow will tell if they get worse…

    • pesh00 - Jun 28, 2012 at 11:01 PM

He cant go back to the lakers until december so that isn’t happening….

  9. pheneousphreak - Jun 28, 2012 at 11:00 PM

Mistake on the Lakers part, they should have gotten rid of that lazy bum Bynum and kept Odom. Odom will get out of this funk and perform for the Clippers.

  10. 1972wasalongtimeago - Jun 29, 2012 at 12:54 AM

If he’s bought out, I don’t need to tell you where he’s going do I?
