Anthony Davis trademarks his unibrow. Smart. But weird.

Anthony Davis is going to be a star.

Well, nothing is ever a sure thing. But as much as you can know a guy is a franchise player, Anthony Davis is going to be one. It’s why he is a lock to be the No. 1 overall pick of the New Orleans Hornets come Thursday night. And that status comes with marketing opportunities galore.

So Davis has trademarked his most prominent feature — his unibrow — reports Darren Rovel at CNBC.com.

Davis, known for his connected eyebrows, trademarked the phrases “Fear The Brow” and “Raise The Brow” earlier this month.

“I don’t want anyone to try to grow a unibrow because of me and then try to make money off of it,” Davis told CNBC. “Me and my family decided to trademark it because it’s very u

nique.”

Shirts with those saying or just a unibrow picture were all over Kentucky last year. Of course, as an amateur, Davis didn’t see of piece of this, only the university and its athletic department did. But sure, the current NCAA amateur system is great.

As a pro, things are different. And you can bet some unibrow marketing ideas are being worked on in the New Orleans Hornets offices right now. Smart money says Friday morning shirts will be available online.

Smart move by Davis.

But dude, it’s still a unibrow. This is all a little weird. And some veterans may still sit on him and shave that thing this season.

Wonder if the 5-6 illegitimate kids he will have will be rocking the unibrow.

Comments like that are the main reason I have regrets about serving in the military. To protect a ‘freedom of speech’ for knuckleheads.

Man, and I was hoping that he might actually clean it up. Hope everyone is ready for the McD’s commercial that ends with an image of a smiling Anthony Davis, then fades away and the unibrow becomes the golden arches. It has to be coming.

You mean he is going to go his WHOLE career with that thing? At least get some freaking braces with that unibrow money!

  6. rajbais - Jun 25, 2012 at 6:57 PM

    How about unappealing???

Maybe he’ll stink at scoring because all the weirdo centers are defense-only anyways.

    Weirdo Centers:
    1. Scot Pollard
    2. Chris Andersen
    3. Joakim Noah
    4. Ben Wallace
    5. Name more if you can

    • CJ - Jun 25, 2012 at 7:20 PM

Rodman lined up at center at times. Mostly played forward, but even playing center once, he’s enough weirdo to rank 1st on that list.

      • rajbais - Jun 26, 2012 at 12:25 PM

I remember Rodman doing that. Insert him if you want!

  8. pellypell - Jun 25, 2012 at 7:27 PM

    Any other suggestions?

  13. lakerluver - Jun 26, 2012 at 12:26 AM

Unibrow or not, that kid’s gonna be a star. Not only is he extremely talented he obviously is also very comfortable in his own skin. If I had a unibrow like that I would’ve chopped it off in grade school!!

  14. southpaw77 - Jun 26, 2012 at 8:27 AM

    How about Hasheem Thabeet 2.0?
    Just kidding. Lol

  15. mtheparrothead - Jun 26, 2012 at 8:54 PM

The Uni brow is unique? Millions of Russian women disagree. What a tool
