Shaw played for the magic in the shaq years and was with them for the ’95 finals year. He knows the organization and the area pretty well. Oh yea is NC a tax free state?
As much $ as MJ has, Rich DeVos has billions more. Just saying…

don’t write off the bobcats. jordan has put together a strong FO. the rich cho signing was prolly charlotte’s best FA move of franchise history. the charlotte job is every bit as desirable as the orlando job. Tons of cap space, barely any cash tied up in overpaid veterans, and room for a coach to instantly improve a 7 win team.

and charlotte is a much more desirable city to live in than orlando. it isn’t even close. 2 hours from the mountains and 3 hours from the ocean. way better climate too….

I don’t necessarily think it’s as easy as Shaw just taking the first job offered to him. He turned down the opportunity to become the Cavs’ coach because he wanted to wait for the Lakers job to open. Since he didn’t get that job, it’s feasible he could be hungrier for the first available job, but it’s also clear that he has a willingness to wait for his favored opportunity.
