Video: Kobe, Griffin, Rose pimp NBA 2K13

Jun 14, 2012, 3:12 PM EDT

It’s not going to be easy to top NBA 2K12 and the throwback teams, but I’ll speak for all of us in saying I can’t wait to hear what is coming in NBA 2K13.

This new promo spot for the game doesn’t really tell us much about the game itself, but it does remind us that Blake Griffin if a funny man. I love that dry sense of humor. Kobe Bryant and Derrick Rose almost smile during the ad. Almost.

Hat tip to I am a GM.

nba live franchise comes back this season too! EA sports scrapped its whole nba live and ncaa basketball studios out west and started from scratch with a new studio and production staff located in orlando florida.. the nba players tested it at the nba all star game and they said the new features will revolutionize nba gaming that it is that much better than nba2k series!! i trust ea sports as their sports games are the pioneers of sports gaming as all the other 2k’s and inposters tried to keep up with them in all sports..nba2k series is #1 rated franchise of nba games because its the only one and the seal you see on thepackage says endorsed by 2k sports..doesnt mean much. ill be excited to see ncaa basketball come back as well with the new engine and studio/production staff.

rohlo you are either a moron or an ea sports fanboy because 1. That imposter of 2k threatened the madden series in 2005 with the great game of espn NFL 2k5 an ea was scared thus buying the license and in 2k11 thy basically killed NBA live 2. Fron some of the people that have played and seen the game at e3 they said it was about te same as NBA elite in the trash gameplay department 3. How can you trust Ea to put out a quality product they were voted one of the worst companies in the world and if anybody wants to see some NBA elite gameplay just look up NBA elite demo Jesus glitch

You are very wrong, because EA didn’t allow anyone to play, they just displayed it. And NBA Elite 11 was 2 years ago, get over, this NBA Live 13 developer team is all new except for one dev. And for a 2K fan like yourself, there isn’t much to be proud of, because it’s the same crappy gameplay from 2K12 (NBA’s Greatest, My Player, and Association saved the game). The AI on 2K is horrible, Kendrick Perkins running as fast as Westbrook on a fastbreak, a defender will become helpless when the shot clock dwindles, and 2K has a lame ass Slam Dunk competition that looks like Guitar Hero. Take a look for yourself:

But you Live skeptics can only be pessimistic for wrong reasons, because official gameplay hasn’t been released. And Live 13 will have Synergy Sports and ESPN incorporated, so that’s good too. And the CPU will “move with a purpose”, meaning they’ll set screens, get open, or whatever like an actual basketball team. You can call me a EA fanboy, but I don’t care, because Live 13 will shut you up.

You are an nba live fanboy because your just trying to brush the nba elite utter failure under the mat despite its epic fail of game. Crappy gameplay from 2k really look at nba live 10 where you could shoot about 30 threes in one game and make them all ya great gameplay how nba elite where shaq could make three pointers or bynun could dunk from the free throw line. And perkins running as fast as westbrook i admit is bs but that only happens vs the cpu otherwise online is great against sim players. And i am not a live skeptic i just like a good basketball game which 2k delivers and live doesnt just listen to these guys from this video here; these guys have seen the gameplay and observed gameplay they say its trash maybe worse than elite and another reason your nba live fanboy is because you say live 13 will shut you up because thats all people like you said about elite haha look how that turned out now stop being a fanboy and defending ea to an ridiculous level because it just makes look like a moron.

Its obvious you work for EA Sports but its cool lol. I’ve always been a fan of the Live series over the 2k but 2k has been kicking that ass for a long time. I hope Live put out a competitive product because right now 2k has the monopoly on the NBA games like Madden has an monopoly over the nfl games…IJS tho.

2k sports OWNS EA. NBA 2k11 completely buried nba elite. I wasn’t expecting 2k to be able to put out a better version from 2k11 but they did it with 2k12 and its still the only video game ive been playing since november. Now we can only hope for EA to lose this monopoly on the NFL because once that happens, 2k football will take over (just like 2k5 when the game was only $20!!) and the madden franchise will be in trouble.

@jtchernak^Yeah, those same guys complained that Live 13 has “too good” of passing? And 2K will have your center on the wing for some dumb reasons, you get turnovers in the dumbest way: dribbling the ball on your foot, really? and it will have major glitches where players can drive in like you’re a ghost. 2K and Live has it’s pros and cons, but Live has gameplay that makes sense. Don’t act like 2K has it’s flaws, and you spoke about online, please don’t get me started, 2K fans bitch year in and year out about online servers, so it’s pure ass. Live 13 isn’t going to be better than 2K13, EA Orlando is trying to build their foundation on Gameplay, Presentation, and Online. Gameplay is the only thing in question, we’ll see some actual official gameplay in a month or two, not the pre-alpha those two were talking about.
