Game 1 pregame notes: Spoelstra won’t tip hand on Bosh starting

So is Chris Bosh going to start Game 1 for the Heat?

You’ll have to wait and see. As will the rest of us. In his pregame talk Heat coach Erik Spoelstra did not tip his hand as to the starting lineup and whether Bosh will be in it or keep coming off the bench. He said the “eight guys” who are going to play know who they are, but he doesn’t want this to distract his team. Sure. He’s looking for an edge.

Spoelstra did say he expects Bosh could play more than the 31 minutes he was on the court in Game 7 against Boston.

Other notes:

• Thunder coach Scott Brooks said in an NBA TV interview he really doesn’t care if Bosh starts or not.

“We have guys who can guard multiple positions and that’s what makes us a great team. And whoever they throw at us we’re going to do our best against it.”

• Brooks also may have had my favorite line of the night, asked if he would ever get Kevin Durant any rest in game.

“48 (minutes) is probably too much. 47.”

• Miami Heat fan ‘lil Wayne — who famously got shut out of a game in Oklahoma City recently because he couldn’t get a ticket — bought one and is in the house for Game 1.

• For you grammar nerds, a great story about how copy editors around the nation hate this matchup (via Deadspin).

From 1978-1987, I was a youngster and the Heat did not exist. I was a huge Seattle Supersonics fan. I loved watching them play the few times a year they were on TV. I loved he players, I loved he uniforms. I loved the Sonics fans.

In my mind, tonight, we are playing for ourselves sure; but we’re also playing for our friends in the Great Northwest.

This is for you CDJ & Gus. For you JJ and Sikma. For you Lonnie and Marvin. For you Downtown Freddy Brown and a young Vinny Johnson. For you Coach Wilkins. For you X-Man, Dale, & Chambers.

But my message to OKC, in the words of Eddie, Stone, Jeff, Mike, & Matt.

“our friends in the Great Northwest”

People everywhere, inlcuding the Great Northwest, hate the Heat and what they “stand” for. Some Sonics fans might be rooting for MIA as the less of two evils (in their mind) but dont get it twisted, people hate the Heat lol

From 1978-1986, I was a youngster living in my dad’s balls because I wasnt born yet. In 1987 I was born and was instanly a NYK fans.I loved watching them play on TV. I loved the players, I loved the uniforms. I loved my birthplace of New York City.

In my mind, tonight, the Heat suck and their fans are pathetic. They didnt realize MIA had a team before the summer of 2010.

This is for you Tiny Dave & and One-Eyed Frank. For you Tiny-titty Sara and Joe Joe. For you Uncle Lonnie and Fat Marvin. For you Downtown Freddy Boom Boom Robinson and a young Frank Sanatra. For you Coach Cougar. For you my fellow X-Men.

But my message to MIA, in the words of R Kelly.

    Im gonna pissss on you!

LET’S GO OKC!!!! LET”S GO OKC!!!!
