Video: Top 10 game winning/tying shots of NBA season

Jun 11, 2012, 1:33 PM EDT

I really despise the NBA clutch/closer debate, because it can be arbitrary and it’s easy to pigeonhole guys into being great or terrible in the clutch when the reality for both is closer to the average. Just remember what Rockets GM Daryl Morey (and many others) said — good teams don’t win more close games, good teams avoid being in close games.

Still, let’s be honest — game winning shots are fun to watch. So here are some of the best and most dramatic moments from the NBA season. Something to do on a day off while waiting for the NBA finals to kick in on Tuesday.

God I love the NBA!! Even though this season was muddled by some key injuries I’m still more psyched than ever. These are great plays made by great players (Farmar excepted) and there’s more to come from LBJ and Durant in the Finals.

PS How great is the NBA for embracing YouTube? No other sport allows their content to be shared publicly like this. LOVE IT!!

wait, how doesn’t KD beating Dallas even make the list? and how is Melo #1 when he left over 8 seconds on the clock, and he hit the same exact shot that 5 other players on the list did?

I agree there are some good shots left out. Maybe they should expend the list to just Top 10 clutch players of the season; Chris Paul had half a dozen clutch shots left out.

But it’s a list of game winning shots. What makes a game winning shot that much more exciting? The fact that it comes right at the buzzer.

yea i thought that would be #1 that was an amazing shot and it was easily the best game winner of the year

You took the words right out of my mouth. I can’t believe it didn’t even make the list.

Missing is the Kevin Love buzzer beating 3 for the win against the Clippers. What a great shot.
