I agree, miller admitted himself he will need multiple surgeries and rehab to play next year, we gave him 2 years to show up; it’s not his fault sometimes the body can’t cash the check the mind is writing !!!!

They will definitely use the amnesty clause on Miller.

Miller has literally done nothing for the Heat for two years now. Both Battier and James Jones can shoot just as well as Miller, and they play better defense. The only thing Miller is supposed to give you is some offensive playmaking ability, but honestly, it’s been non-existent for 2 years, and there’s no reason to think it’ll start now or next year.

The Heat need to get a defensive centre that offers at least a little more production than Joel Anthony and isn’t a total offensive pilon.
It doesn’t need to be McGee (who will likely command a lot of money; I don’t know why though). But there are a lot of big young centres who are unrestricted. Fesenko, Spencer Hawes, Asik, Robin Lopes although he’s restricted. You can probably pick up one of those players for around $5 million.

Or just draft the best centre available in the draft. Anyone with a big body that can move on a basketball court. As long as he’s 6″10 or bigger, it’ll be an upgrade.

McGee has potential and is definitely a better pick up than older and more injury prone mike miller. As long as he doesn’t act like a dumbass on the court and gets a post game, Miami would be solid in all areas of the court. He’s already a great rebounder and more size is something every team always needs

Heat will amnesty miller, freeing up about 6-8 mil a year including the mid level; javel mcgee, Omer asik or another big man is sorely needed
