Garnett, Rondo snub Heat, head to locker room before final buzzer. Classy.

It was an emotional moment.

Doc Rivers pulled out his stars Rajon Rondo, Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen in what may have been their final game together. There were hugs and embraces all around on the Celtics bench.

Then Rondo and Garnett kept walking, all the way back to the locker room before the final buzzer sounded — cameras followed them all the way back to the locker room while there was time on the clock.

They snubbed the Heat and did not take part in the traditional post-game hand congratulations and hand shakes with the other team.

Classless way to end it, guys.

A bunch of you just said, “so what? They were pissed off after losing Game 7 like they should be.” You are all the exact same people who would have ripped LeBron James as a disrespectful jerk if he did it. And in the past, when Lebron did skip the postgame handshake, it became a huge deal and he was shredded for it. This is exactly the same thing. You can’t have it both ways.

I get that they were ticked off but I expect them to be mature adults. I expect them to be able to accept defeat with a modicum of grace — Ray Allen did it, Paul Pierce did it, Doc Rivers did it, the other Celtics did it. You don’t have to be happy but you do have to show the opponents that just beat you some respect.

Struggling on defense — their calling card — then walking out on shaking hands is just a sad way to see a fantastic era of Celtics basketball probably come to an end. I just expected more from KG and Rondo.

Really??? You expected more from two punks. KG has been his entire career, and his tough man shtick is old and tired, just like him. And Rondo is following right in his footsteps. Glad I won’t have to watch their crap in the playoffs next year.

Where are all the people that were up in arms when Bron Bron snubbed his opponents after getting bounced by DET in 06, SA in 07, BOS in 08?…. That’s what I figured, silence. Much like ESPN, Bron Bron ball washers, this article and Miami sports base in general are extremely unintelligent. KG and Rondo probably left the court at the end of the game because they don’t respect Bron Bron as well as Wade, I’d bet… Proof in the pudding when Kobe got in the ear of Bron at the end of tge All-Star game for not taking the last shot. Now that the NBA and Stern have the finals matchup they wanted, enjoy the series for all the Bron Bron ballzac holsters.

They are right here thumbing down everyone’s comments, just like they did you. Heat “fans” are just like Heat players: frontrunners, whiny and hypocrites of the highest order.

  3. dko83 - Jun 10, 2012 at 11:27 AM

Two great players that didn’t want to see the other team celebrate. But keep flaming away Miami fans, it’s not like players could be so upset after losing a big game they need teammates to carry them to the locker room because they’re collapsing in an embarrassing, emotional breakdown of tears and sobs…

  4. scalfor3 - Jun 10, 2012 at 11:33 AM

this is a non-story. as much as i hate lebron (and i hate him tons) i thought it was a non-story when he did it to orlando years ago too. this isn’t hockey, where the handshake line is a tradition/part of the game. it would’ve displayed sportsmanship to shake their hands, but they don’t owe the heat anything.

  5. dysraw1 - Jun 10, 2012 at 11:43 AM

im not mad at KG, Rondo, false love is so phony if i don’t like you why would pretend that i am happy for your success way to keep it real guys

  6. Gordon - Jun 10, 2012 at 11:44 AM

Hope he ha a daughter. Maybe he’ll get why a lot of folks find his past behavior repulsive.

BTW – Is he the one giving birth? Looks pregnant in that photo.

  7. danfrommv - Jun 10, 2012 at 12:03 PM

Go OKC! I was hoping they would beat either of these punk-ass teams

  8. runtmc - Jun 10, 2012 at 12:14 PM

Got no problem with KG & Rondo, just wish JR Reid or Rick Mahorn played for the Celtics & had laud LeBron out, oh well. Never been there, but I just became a giant OKC Thunder fan.

  9. jammers11 - Jun 10, 2012 at 12:34 PM

Imagine if KG, Allen and Pierce had gotten together in their prime a few years earlier. They would have won more then just one championship.

    • Mr. Wright 212 - Jun 10, 2012 at 4:41 PM

Still more than the zero the Heat will ever win with this core. James will opt out in two years and thankfully the nonsense will finally cease.

      • southbeachtalent - Jun 10, 2012 at 7:24 PM

Why would u want this to cease? Are u really concerned about the well being of the Heat? Or is it that your Knicks don’t stand a chance as long as Miami has this core? I will go with the latter.

Your team will be irrelevant for atleast the next 5 years. Accept it.

      • Mr. Wright 212 - Jun 10, 2012 at 8:19 PM

The Knicks will win a title before Miami does LMFAO

  10. dirtybird2020 - Jun 10, 2012 at 12:41 PM

What did you expect their the only players that played with emotion, and arent gonna bow down to those bums, i respect them way more than if they did! They called the out last year talking about we still run things and this team is good on paper and havent proven a thing( still havent-and wint), atleast they let their yes be yes and no be no and change the way they feel or do things! Rondo the man! Rondo love your attitude and tough guy tactics! You already have a ring unlike someone i know hahahaha been there done that

  11. trybe29dr - Jun 10, 2012 at 12:56 PM

Rondo is such a follower…this was KG just being a prick which is sort of expected. But Rondo suddenly turned into a tough guy during this series with his 1 1/2 knuckle pushups. He called out Miami players at a halftime interview about complaining about calls while he moans about calls throughout the game…hypocrite

    • scalfor3 - Jun 10, 2012 at 2:08 PM

rondo is anything but a follower

    • iamhoraceknight - Jun 10, 2012 at 10:53 PM

Are you really watching the games. I am not even a Celtics fan, but Rondo is Clearly NOT a follower.

Rondo hates the heat, and their whining and flopping, not too mention D Wade throwing him down last year causing him to dislocate his elbow.

Players should be upset when they lose, shake hands another day. That’s part of the reason that we have NO real rivalries anymore, everyone wants to be friends, the media wants everyone to be friends .

  12. rooney24 - Jun 10, 2012 at 1:24 PM

I didn’t have a problem with them not shaking hands, but they could have at least sat on the bench until the final buzzer.

    • southbeachtalent - Jun 11, 2012 at 10:44 AM

Agree 100%. I wouldn’t have shook hands but at least respect the guys that have to be on the court. That shows lack of respect to your own team mates.

I cant lie though, it was great watching those two march away pouting like a couple of 2 year olds!

  13. jcf78 - Jun 10, 2012 at 1:37 PM

Gotta love Celtic fans…. Talking about the refs, has to be a freaking Boston thing!!!!! Patriots, celtics, red sox, even the bruins!!!!! Stopping bitching and be men!!!! U lost!!!! In the end of the day u jackoff celtic players were side by side holding hands figuratively with heat players during the lockout for money!!!!!

    • scalfor3 - Jun 11, 2012 at 1:20 AM

yes you’re right. talking about the refs is a boston thing. no other fanbase does it ever. maybe its a side effect of all the chowdah

  14. packhawk04 - Jun 10, 2012 at 2:22 PM

No problem with it. Had no problem when lebron did it, and i wouldve had no problem with it if the celtics won and lebron did the same thing which he would have.

  15. acdc363 - Jun 10, 2012 at 2:31 PM

This literally happens all the time. Even in the regular season. LBJ did it to the Mavs last year. Who cares?

  16. max20characters - Jun 10, 2012 at 2:34 PM

Damn you both, KJ and Hondo!

  17. bta07 - Jun 10, 2012 at 2:34 PM

You act like these guys don’t have the other phone number or won’t be playing in the olympics together. Get over it. It wasn’t classless, it wasn’t wrong of them to do, it’s basic human emotion taking control in a situation they had no control over.

  18. mitchrog - Jun 10, 2012 at 2:59 PM

anyone surprised by KG showing a lack of class have obviously not been watching his career, he is a punk and always has been. and to all you morons saying ” liking your opponent is for 6 year olds” you’re idiots and I hope you don’t have kids, populating the earth with classless jerks who can’t show respect to a competitor. Just what the country needs, more disrespectful, spoiled, overpaid egoists. Give me a Tim Duncan or a Ray Allen any day. I personally will be glad when KG fades to obscurity.

  19. southbeachtalent - Jun 10, 2012 at 3:25 PM

Wouldn’t expect anything else from those two clowns.

On to the Thunder, EAT IT Boston!!!!

  20. ebergevin - Jun 10, 2012 at 3:41 PM

You know what, so what? This is just further demonstration of the “wussification” of America. If this happened in the 1980’s then no one would care. I don’t understand how this is an issue at all. Personally as a fan, I would take pride in knowing that my team has a genuine dislike for their opponent especially one as egotistic as the Miami Heat. The only thing they did was demonstrate what every basketball fan was thinking. If this is how Kevin and Rajon want to conduct themselves and this is the image that they want than so be it.

  21. chicagofan - Jun 10, 2012 at 3:54 PM

What goes around comes around! LBJ had this coming after his history of classlessness.

  22. modogg42 - Jun 10, 2012 at 4:02 PM

They’re lucky that Heat fans are fair weather fans. Should have dumped a beer on both of them as they walked to the locker room

  23. Mr. Wright 212 - Jun 10, 2012 at 4:43 PM

Heat “fans” are just like Heat players: front runners, hypocrites and whiny pissants of the highest order.

    • truthhurtstoo - Jun 10, 2012 at 6:23 PM

spoken like the true LOSER you are. Enjoy watching the rest of the playoffs from home. HA!

      • southbeachtalent - Jun 10, 2012 at 7:09 PM

He’s a bitter Knicks fan. Can’t blame him 1 win in the playoffs in the last decade. Pretty embarrassing for a team that calls their arena “The Mecca”….. Mecca of failure maybe.

      • Mr. Wright 212 - Jun 10, 2012 at 8:16 PM

I’m going to enjoy watching the Thunder dismantle those clowns.

  24. CaJonMcChicken - Jun 10, 2012 at 4:46 PM

I miss the days when teams used to hate each other. Indiana vs. Knicks. Any team the bad boy Pistons played.

  25. truthhurtstoo - Jun 10, 2012 at 6:22 PM

The HEAT OWN the little celtics. For all the whining your old team choked! Not even close. HEAT roll on while you cry a river…

    • bozosforall - Jun 11, 2012 at 12:23 AM
