Boston mayor loves Celtics stars “KJ,” “Hondo.” Whaaaat?

Jun 7, 2012, 11:45 AM EDT

I didn’t know Boston actually elected Mayor Quimby.

The video above is Boston Mayor Thomas Menino, saying that he thinks they get great play out of “KJ” and that “Hondo” is the real inspiration.

KJ? I thought he was the mayor of Sacramento now and a little past his prime. Hondo? Boston could certainly use No. 17 to come down out of the rafters and have John Havlicek suit up for this one.

Or, maybe he meant KG and Rondo. Kevin Garnett and Rajon Rondo. The mayor has already apologized for the gaffe.

Of course, this is the same mayor who once thanked NBA Commissioner “Donald Stern” and butchered some other sports names. So, sometimes he gets names wrong, it’s not like he’s in a profession where his people skills are the most important thing.

This guy is so obviously trolling everyone, yet most people don’t even realize it.

So much for River’s surprise secret weapon. Rumor has it Bill Russel has re-signed and is suiting up too.

Either that of he’s channelling the ghost of Ted Kennedy, paying tribute to Mike McGuire and Sammy Sooser.

The guy sounds like he is having a stroke 24-7. It blows my mind that he is still the mayor. The guy was the driver for Mayor Flynn back in the 70’s and he made connections. This is what happens when a driver becomes a mayor of a major city.

Menino is more than you will ever be, fake a$$ wannabe scout.

      • giselleisasucubus - Jun 7, 2012 at 7:55 PM

: ) yup, sure clown, wannabee. Notice how far off I am in my predictions and posts? How do you think I know this stuff? Again, I come in here to shoot the s&*t w/fans of the game. You come in here to type up homophobe comments and your anti-Boston tirades are nonsense. I have a question for your sorry a&s- have you ever played an organized sport? Are you mad because you suck at everything you do so you use a website comment section to validate your pathetic life? Again, go kill yourself. Maybe do it on the weekend when you have your pretend “life”. Jackass.

      • bozosforall - Jun 9, 2012 at 11:45 PM

More of a life than your pretend scout fantasy world. And yes, I have played organized sports. Even won a title doing it.

He sounds like Presidential or Congressional material.

Menino is a typical know-nothing Boston loudmouth. Yet he has accomplished so much more than the typical New England posters on this board. Just think how low that makes you Boston losers. Really LOW.

    • phaden27 - Jun 7, 2012 at 8:18 PM

Eating all that Spurs crow would make me feel really low….

      • bozosforall - Jun 7, 2012 at 9:38 PM

Spurs crow? Who really cares about the Spurs?

What a mess! Bet he is on a lot of “different” payrolls.

Just one more in a long line of Boston politicians mangling the names of sports figures. Who could forget Ted Kennedy introducing Mike McGwire and Sammy Sooser back in 1998? But Mumbles, man, these are Boston Celtics and you don’t know their names. Politics remains the bastion of those who fail upward better than anyone else.
