Jeremy Lin was dynamite this season what he did could never be taken away, however im incline to believe that he does have a lot of developing to before he should be handed the keys, but we all know in a pinch he can take those keys.

He’s playing at the pro level now. You don’t need an entire year to figure out a person’s skill level. Not saying he can’t get better, but off the bench is where he needs to be based on what we’ve seen so far.

Lin’s a good player, but the sample size is too small. And it doesn’t matter how well he did w/o Melo because he needs to learn how to be a PG on Melo’s team going forward, so throw the 30+pts, 10+ast and whatever out the window.

He has a lot to work on in the offseason and worrying about whether he’ll be starting or not should not be his concern.

The Knicks control his rights, even if they lose the arbritration case. He would still be a RFA and can only earn 5 million for 1st 2 years, and more after that (cause he was waived). The Knicks can match any offer, and will. They can come out and say “Lin will be our 3rd string PG” and still keep him. They woudnt, because Lin can be really really good, but the Knicks arent trying to “suck up” to him or anything.

I don’t understand why the Knicks wouldn’t make him the starting PG – what other player has ever done what he did to start off their career? He’s shown more than enough to show that he deserves a chance and is the Knicks future at the position

Sure his D needs work, he also needs to keep his turnovers in check and play more consistently on the left side and he’s probably more a top 15 player than a top 10 player but he’s shown far more in his first season as a starter than almost any other player has – why shouldn’t he get the chance to have a full off-season to develop as a starter?

It would be interesting to see if Lin can play a full, good season at the point when every team knows about him now. I wish him luck. I think that he will need it.

The idea is to get Lin signed before he is snatched up by another team. If the Knicks can convince Lin that he will be a starter, he will be more inclined to stick around. Moreover, the Knicks are aware that there are other NBA teams, like Toronto for instance, who would gladly use Lin as a starter. Hopefully, Lin’s agent, Montgomery, will see through the tape and do what’s best for his client. Needless to say, the Knicks are still looking to add a top name point guard, who will in fact be a starter if he decides to come with the Knicks. Nash is still in the running and so is Ramon Sessions. Woodson is saying the right thing, the company line, but he is aware that Lin will be coming off the bench if the Knicks land a good point guard.
