Video: We’re pretty pumped for Dream Team documentary

Jun 5, 2012, 1:47 PM EDT

You probably have seen the commercials for the upcoming NBA TV Dream Team documentary, but we’re getting pretty pumped up for this. So we’re bringing you the trailer. Watch it again. And again.

The original NBA Dream Team was 20 years ago this summer — a team with 11 Basketball Hall of Famers that steamrolled an international Olympics field far weaker than the one Team USA will face this summer. But it was those guys and what they did, the international spotlight they brought to the NBA and the game, that jump started the international growth of the sport. Still, the best stories are from the practices and more.

We will have a full advanced review of the documentary closer to its airing (9 p.m. Eastern, June 13 on NBA TV). For now, enjoy the trailer.

Magic: “You can’t get too close to Michael, that’s a foul.”

What? Star players got favorable/preferential treatment from the ref’s in the 90’s? This isn’t something that was invented by the Miami Heat?

This is why everyone hates the Heat…you guys try to make everything about Miami. SHUT UP ALREADY!!!

        I’m not a Heat fan. I’m a Bulls fan.

And that’s why we hate you. If a pro-Heat comment is made it must be either a bandwagoner or a heat-homer.

I’ve read about these practices in two different books. There are also two separate videos on youtube where Magic and Jordan said that a particular practice was the best game they ever played in. We are talking about 2 of the 5 greatest players say this was the best game they ever been part of, those practices must of been epic.

I still think the 84 Olympic team was the original Dream Team.

I can’t wait to see this documentary! It truly was a magic (no pun intended) olympic season for the team and the NBA. I watched all those games and it’ll be nice to relive that experience.
