4 million is too steep.
What are the Suns thinking or the Cavs to match such an insane price for a bench player. The guy has no pull up jumper, he tries to take everything to the rim for a dunk and draws a ton of charges.

Gee is best suited as a small forward off the bench, so no matter who the Cavs draft, they'd like to keep him. They view him as a building block and they have cap room and money, so re-signing him likely will not be a problem. Even if that wasn't the case, however, Gee still reminds me of one of those guys who found the right team and the right coaching staff to get the most out of him. If he's smart, he'll want to stay put. The Cavs are invested in him and he has shown he can excel in the right system. There's a good chance another system/team wouldn't be nearly as good of a fit for him.

As a very recent example, look at Lester Hudson. It turned out the Cavs and their staff unlocked a lot of potential in him, but they weren't quite ready to commit a guaranteed contract to a player who had only played in 13 games. Hudson averaged 12.7 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 24.2 minutes for the Cavs. He didn't get the guaranteed contract he wanted, though, so he left for Memphis. The Cavs wanted to see a little more before making a commitment to a guard who shot 39% from the floor and 25% from the 3-pt. line. With the Grizzlies, he never even saw the floor in the playoffs and he didn't score in two of the three regular season games in which he played for them. The only game in which he had any impact for Mephis was when he had a revenge game against the Cavs.

I think the Cavs and Gee will find a way to come together on a contract. I think it would be in the best interest of both sides.
