Demarcus Cousins, Thomas Robinson...

I never said he needs a complete post game...with his athletic abilities, even 1/2 a post game would make a huge difference. The problem is, he has zero post game, or face-up ability, and is really, really thing.

He looks exactly like Javale McGee, except Davis is probably a lot smarter.

I do believe Davis will for sure be a very good player, and should probably go #1 overall in this draft. But all I'm saying is that he's far from a sure thing in terms of stardom.

What college big man has a complete post game as a freshman? Its a little ridiculous to say he wont be offensively sound based on one year at Kentucky. Lets give him a couple years and revisit that concern.

Not bad points (I couldnt understand Scoop either, article made 0 sense). Nobody knows what Davis is going to become in the NBA, but we do know 1) Great shot blocker 2) Unselfish teammate 3) Non-stop motor 4) Above average rebounder 5) Not an un-assisted offensive threat, yet.

And you are right, that might just add up to Ibaka 2.0, BUT that's a worst case scenario. Getting a player who has a worst case scenario of a top 5 defender in the NBA, who is also a great team guy, is awesome. You dont pass that up. And his ceiling? Who knows. Guy def has the work ethic to develop a nice little jump shot or bank shot in the paint.

Look at the other top 5 players who are projected to get draft. Davis is the only one I can say will have an impact the next 10 years in NBA for sure. You dont over think it and try to hit a "Grand-Slam" when you win the draft, its too rare of an opportunity. You take the sure "hit" and hope it leads to the "Grand-Slam", and if it doesnt, at least the inning continues! Too much baseball? lol

I'm not so sure (although not for the reasons Scoop Jackson argues - I had to read that article like 3 times to figure out what the hell he was saying).

One thing I don't get about Davis is his offense. His offense is non-existent. Sure he can finish around the rim, but he has no face-up or back to the basket ability. He simply finishes plays.

I know what everyone says - he's probably the next Dwight Howard (he's no Tim Duncan...Duncan had a great bank shot from 13 - 16 feet, and is an absolute scientist in the post. Davis has never displayed any of those skills). But Dwight Howard is crazy strong. Davis is really, really thin, and often got muscled out in the post in college (let alone the NBA).

He will be an incredible help defender no matter what. But I'm not so sure he's 100% headed for stardom. Sure, he could be the next Howard or Duncan if his offense pans out. But he might also just be the next Sarge Ibaka (another coordinated, athletic big man with very little face-up game or back to the basket ability...)

Scoop Jackson is a fool to even suggest someone other than Davis should go no. 1. As for Brandon Roy, when he was healthy he was as good as anyone, even Kobe. If he has even 50% of his game left he can help my LAKERS.
