How about this. It really grinds my gears when someone drives the lane, misses an easy layup and the ref calls the foul. Its not the fact that the foul was called but its because the ref waits to see if the ball goes in before blowing the whistle. If the layup is missed the ref will call the foul but if he makes it, most times referees will swallow the whistles. I can't tell you how many times I've seen that happen this season.

I am going to be the devil's advocate here. I don't think refs do a bad job. Their challenge is the interpretation of calls. For example a rookie call, vet call, beginning of game call, last 2 minute foul, etc. I am happy as a fan when an entire game is called consistently. That being said I like when they swallow their whistles in the last 2 minutes.

Flopping is a huge issue - the solution ALWAYS CALL A FOUL. Sometimes it will be a charge, and if not - blocking. The amount of no-calls for flops only encourages the behavior. It's like watching soccer.

I watch a lot of basketball and I don't remember a lot of games where I thought "man that was terribly called." Sometimes they miss one, know it, and give a call on the other end. I think they balance it out well.

How about a flopping rule? You can call it the Wade rule. How about controlling the refs from sending LeBron to the line every time he touches the ball?

Where can I apply to be on the flopping committee? I'd love administering penalties to these actors like Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, Luis Scola, Paul Pierce, Ginobli, Harden, and so many more!

And yes, take away some time outs (at least the media timeouts). There's WAY too many now.

Start calling fouls on offensive players attacking the defender instead of attacking the rim - looking to draw a foul more than they are looking to make the basket. You know, like what Chris Paul does every time he drives.

Administer a technical foul every time Doc Rivers cries to the refs with that pathetic looking crybaby face.

Implement a traveling rule. Like if you take more than 2 steps without dribbling, it's called traveling and you lose the ball and the other team gets it.

How about televising the actual lottery that's held in some secret back room like its part of the skull & bones secret society.

Cutting in half all the timeouts at the end of a game.

Change the blocking foul to being actually set for over a second. Like a second and a half.
