Quote of the Day: Metta World Peace takes responsibility for his play, calls Mike Brown fat

May 22, 2012, 6:15 PM EDT

Los Angeles Lakers' Metta World Peace, formerly known as Ron Artest, holds a news conference in Los Angeles, California Reuters

From the Los Angeles Times’ Mark Medina:

Metta on Mike Brown: “It was a drastic change and took getting used to. But at the same time, we should still be up 3-2. Mike wasn’t out there guarding Kevin. That was me. Mike didn’t miss three point shot. I missed it. Mike didn’t come in out of shape. Wait, he did come in out of shape. Mike is a fat a**.”

– Lakers forward Metta World Peace, on his failings in the Lakers-Thunder series and head Coach Mike Brown’s diet and exercise routine

      You said it.

I was watch the post-interviews they had after Lakers lost and right before Kobe got to the mic, they interviewed Ron Ron in the locker room…he says whatever is on his mind.

      Gotta love it.

Ron Artest or Metta World Peace, whatever. Another average NBA player or star wannabe. Go Kings!

What an Idiot, moron! Good luck keeping your job after that comment of Mike Brown ! Wait, wasn’t he getting “mental help”? I guess he needs more of it now that they got eliminated from the playoffs.

He should just keep his mouth shut.

      Spot on.

      Total classless punk.

Oh I forgot, he’s cool cause he’s being ‘real’.

      • skids003 - May 23, 2012 at 7:53 AM

He’s a complete punk, wouldn’t even feed his poor dogs a few years ago. Yeah, he keeps it “real.”

I’m sure they do, considering the first person he thanked after winning his first title (after God, of course) was his psychiatrist. Now THAT was an interesting post-game interview

  6. Fred - May 22, 2012 at 7:27 PM

Artest should be playing for the Elba Lakers after all the crap he’s pulled.

  7. rodge1 - May 22, 2012 at 7:38 PM

Glad to see him out of the playoffs. Now he can only hurt himself.
