Being on the west coast, couldn’t see a lot of Pacers game.
Glad to see Hibbert come on it’s own. Always liked him when he was balling at GTown. Another one of those from the Hoyas big-men assembly line.
Particularly impressed with his moves for a 7-2 center.
I wouldn’t go as far to compare this team to the 04-05 Pistons team, but you never know!!

I don’t think the Pacers are taking their championship chase very seriously.

I’ve noticed that NONE of the Pacers players are sporting “XVI” mouthpieces.

I think “rested on Roy Hibbert” is a bit strong. It rested on the Pacers continue to play at the level they have since the last month of the season. They are too deep for the competition at this point. Their average talent level from 1 to 12 is beyond the star level that the rest of the teams have to offer.

And Bosh is a great PF, no doubt in my mind. But Indiana handled the Heat with Bosh for that first half of game 1, and a big reason why they couldn’t close out that game was because of the adjustment of playing them without Bosh.

At this point, the absence of Bosh affects Miami’s depth more than what he would have meant numbers-wise. Still, I believe that the Pacers were gonna/are gonna beat the Heat with or without Bosh.

Because it’s a stupid idea? Oh.

You TRY and have LeBron play center, and Hibbert shoves him wherever he wants to go and grabs a ridiculous share of the rebounds that go their way. LeBron is a FREAK athlete, but that doesn’t mean that nobody else in the NBA works out at all. Hibbert is nearly a half a foot taller than James, and Hibbert would wear him out on both ends of the court. Not to mention that Miami would then have to figure out who covers David West and Danny Granger. Trying to put a guy like Pittman or Anthony on West gets them destroyed off the dribble in space. Putting Battier on him leaves Mike Miller to guard Danny Granger, and that’s a nightmare waiting to happen.
