No way, the fastest superstar in the NBA with the worlds best knee surgeons working on him for a fairly basic procedure went well? Well, that's just crazy!

Probably looking at 6 months for the ACL to regrow and strengthen. It would be interesting to know if it was a cadaver procedure or if they used his own ligament tissue... I suspect the later. My daughter had that procedure after her 1 season of high school ball and it worked out great for her (used tissue from her hamstring).

At least another two months of conditioning to even get in shape and be ready to go. But he wont be the same player next season... he'll be close in the playoffs, but his lateral movement will suffer.

If the Bulls were smart they would amnesty Boozer, force Deng to have surgery after the olympics and miss most of next year, and make Rose sit until April. They always sell out even when they suck so having one down year to get a chance at the pingpong balls is worth it. Just ask San Antonio how that worked out when David Robinson missed that season. Let everyone heal up and rebuild on the fly. The new economic model of the NBA does not support this team the way it is constructed and Rose will be close to past his prime by the time they fix it. You can not have a max player that plays soft and inconsistent like Boozer. Especially when his back up Taj Gibson is just about the same player. This injury could be the best thing to happen to Rose and Bulls if they play their cards right.

I know medicine is getting better and better, but this is still a torn ACL. Even 8 months seems dicey to me.

I know it would be an unpopular thought among Bulls fans, but would it be in the best long-term interest of the franchise to shut Rose down for all 2012-13, and then he comes back in October after 17-18 months? Most guys don't fully recover until Year Two anyway.

Wow! It was a success!! Imagine that. Like the team is going to have a press release and say "ya, the doctor's totally screwed this one up, it's pretty bad."
