Low expectations, crappy roster. Great place to learn the ropes of being a head guy without all of the losing being blamed on you. He can then parlay that into a better gig. One thing is for sure. It can’t get any worse than now so he can be credited with turning them around when they win 20 games next year.

If anyone paid any attention at all to the time when Ewing was the president of the players union, then you already know this is not a man meant to be doing a lot of thinking and communicating.

Keep in mind Olajuwon has gotten more credit for Dwight Howard’s development than Ewing, and that was for one weekend working with the Orlando centered compared to Ewing being Howard’s personal assistant coach (he has no other duties for the Magic) for the past 5 seasons; that should tell you everything you need to know about Ewing’s coaching abilities.
