I agree OKC's weakness is the propensity for one-on-one basketball and relying on individual talent, plus their tendency to turn the ball over carelessly. However, the Lakers aren't going to have the ammunition to beat them. OKC's starting lineup and bench is better. LA is going to be coming off an extended series with Denver, while OKC will be rested, ready, and with homecourt advantage. Since the Lakers bench is the worst in the league, their starters are going to be logging huge minutes just to beat Denver.

The Lakers don't have the athleticism to match up with OKC's scorers and OKC has the big, athletic frontline to combat what the Lakers do best. That leaves Kobe trying to do too much. Maybe he steals a game himself, but not a series. Thunder beat them in five or six.

That leaves the Spurs, who will finish Utah off on Monday and await the beaten up winner of LAC-Memphis. The Spurs are a terrible matchup for OKC, plus they'll have homecourt where they are virtually unbeatable. The Spurs won't beat themselves and have the best team chemistry going right now. They beat OKC in five or six.

I think the Mavs hit about 30% of their shots for their series, so that's not "we played really well". And even with that terrible shooting, they were able to take OKC to the end in 3 of 4 games. The Thunder have got a couple of awesome players, but the basketball I saw from their team overall in this series was not awesome most of the time. Watching them is a lot like watching the Clippers - one guy at a time trying to create his own shot. I think they are in huge trouble if they've got to face the Lakers next.

On the other hand, the Jazz play their finest game of the series, and Favors and Millsap and Harris play with an insane amount of energy, and they still get beat by 12 at home. This Spurs team has now won 39 of their past 46, with 21 of those wins vs playoff teams - and they're winning most of them by a wide margin. Don't just talk about Parker, Duncan and Ginobili anymore - it's time to give credit to Green, Leonard, Gary Neal, and Tiago Splitter - those young guns are winning nearly all their battles on both ends of the floor.

Kudos on the analogy of a plague...

So true!

There seems to be an extra player on floor when it comes to how the spurs play ball...
